there were a handful of things that drove audrey crazy about being the boss, and it seemed like she had somehow managed to encounter each and every one of them today. first had been the absolutely moronic behavior she’d dealt with from her subordinates over the smallest little problems, which apparently they expected her to spend her day fixing instead of just doing their jobs themselves. then had come the morning meeting, where she’d been met with sexist comments and insubordination, and it had taken every ounce of her self-control to not completely fly off the handle and fire every idiot in the room.
the final straw had been the blatant disregard for the orders she gave, which had sent her into quite the mood. she’d demanded that person after person be brought into her office, where she argued back and forth with each one until she was told what she wanted to hear. it had taken up far more time than she’d anticipated and she was now working well into the night, but at least she’d be able to show her father that she was making progress with her employees the next time she saw him. at this point she only had one person left to deal with, and something told her that the meeting would not end quickly.
“alyssa,” she said as she pushed the intercom button that linked her phone to her secretary’s. “please send reese craven into my office, and then you can go home. have a nice night, and please make sure my schedule for tomorrow is sent to me in the morning.”
audrey leaned back in her chair, drumming her fingers on the desk as she waited for the other girl. she glanced out the window which overlooked the studio lot, and she could see the lights of a production set up in the fake cityscape for an overnight shoot. this view was one of her favorite parts of her job, and, when things got a bit too overwhelming or stressful, she found peace in looking out the window and watching cast and crew members run around the backlot.
a sigh tumbled over her lips and she turned her attention to some papers on her desk, purposely not looking up at the sound of her door opening. it was a power play really, a way of conveying that she wasn’t all this interested in this meeting despite being the one who’d called for it. “i distinctly remember saying that i wanted all your project notes by the end of the day so that i could review them and make my changes,” audrey noted sternly. “if you’ll look out the window you’ll see that the sun has gone down, which i’m fairly certain means the day is over.”
her lips were pursed as she looked up, looking over her colleague. she was attractive, there was no doubt about that. truthfully it was a daily struggle to not flirt with reese, but the last thing audrey needed was word to spread around the office that someone could get special treatment if they had a cute smile and nice tits. instead she was a bit of a hardass with the other, even more so than she was with the rest of her employees. “so? where are the notes?”
