We are delighted to welcome our next Guest Actor for Goblins! @jonnywaistcoat

Tim made it his mission to write the most horrid little man he could imagine, specifically for Jonny. Jonny read the script and said, 'Well I suppose if they don't have any interesting roles available, that'll have to do.'

Jonathan Sims is a voice actor, scriptwriter, author, games designer, showrunner, publisher, graphic designer, streamer, singer, stage actor, occasional techie, he's definitely done some stuff that's producer work... God, he needs a break.

Would anyone be potentially interested if I wrote short stories (mainly horror) and narrated them?

Tim and another guy who was in the pilot called Sam stream @TheBrothersMeredith on twitch every Sunday and sometimes during the week! The name implies that Ben will be there, he won’t, he’s got a small gaggle of little humans to take care of. And Sam is not biologically related to either of them!

PAINT A PICTURE WITH SOUND

This competition is open from now until midnight (GMT) on 19th October 2025.

It is free to enter, and is open to anyone, anywhere, of any level of experience*. You can enter with up to 3 pieces if you enjoy making them!

The theme this year is “Visitor”.

Five entries will be picked by an Audio Drama Hub panel and will be showcased at the Audio Drama Hubfest on 1st November… where those present will choose their favourite to receive a small prize.

Entries must:

be 60 - 90 seconds long

be an MP3 (labelled just with title, NOT your name, to keep anonymity)

only contain Creative Commons 0 fx and music, or your own foley/music. It's a celebration of human creativity so NO AI.

use sounds, music and or breaths to tell the story EXCEPT: This year, as we are focusing on voice acting, you may use up to 10 unique words (which may be repeated) in a sentence, sentences or used abstractly.

Be as experimental as you like and have lots of fun! It doesn't have to be a linear story within a physical space. It doesn't have to be realistic - it can be abstract, a montage of sounds that evoke a memory/feeling/person/place for example, or that just sound interesting together. Giving you total freedom of artistic expression -there's more than enough realism out there, so we really welcome stuff more like Musique concrète too. Have fun, and it is open to anyone just wanting to create - so you can tailor it to your own skills/interests
