The audience generated images from Total Internal Reflection on at Te Papa Tongarewa Museum of New Zealand. With an interest in cultural preservation combined with strong social discourse, the project creates significant education and well-being outcomes through audience generated activation. These are managed though collaborative and experiential models and suggest positive impact by engaging audiences through contemporary art frameworks. This brings the artwork back to the idea of ‘performative efficacy’: the participatory experience of the ritual itself. The data set is also collected off the work and offered up as an open source resource for other creatives to use.
