NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE SERVICE KOREAN NATIONAL POLICE AGENCY CASE NUMBER: #1117 SUBJECT: Organized Crime Syndicate Investigation DATE: [REDACTED]
THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENT IS CLASSIFIED INFORMATION. THE SELLING, DISTRIBUTION, LEAKING, AND/OR DESTRUCTION OF THIS DOCUMENT IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. OFFENDERS WILL SUFFER DIRE CONSEQUENCES UNDER CIVIL LAW AND THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA WILL PUSH FOR THE HARSHEST CHARGES POSSIBLE.
SUMMARY: This document pertains to an ongoing investigation into an identified criminal organization operating within Korea. The group, hereafter referred to as "ATEEZ," is believed to be involved in a wide range of illicit activities, including but not limited to: racketeering, extortion, money laundering, drug trafficking, and murder. ATEEZ’s operations span across multiple cities, with known affiliates and associates within various legitimate businesses, law enforcement agencies, and governmental sectors.
NIS surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts have confirmed that ATEEZ is highly secretive and operates under an elaborate system of compartmentalization to avoid detection. Key figures within the organization remain unidentified, though several aliases have been linked to possible leadership roles. The group’s activities appear to be coordinated from Seoul, with direct involvement in [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. The organization has been linked to multiple high-profile cases, including [REDACTED], with credible sources indicating further criminal conduct of a similarly violent and strategic nature.
INVESTIGATIVE STATUS: This investigation is ongoing. Current efforts are focused on gathering actionable intelligence regarding the inner workings of ATEEZ, with particular emphasis on identifying the key players and methods of operation. Given the high risk and organized nature of the subject group, all agents involved are operating under heightened security protocols.
CURRENT KNOWLEDGE: No key players have been identified, but information and aliases are known to some extent by the NIS. This is detailed below.
KNOWN LEADER: ‘The Captain’
The Captain is infamous for his temper. Multiple sources confirm acts of treacherous violence against those both internal and external to his organisation. The Captain is described as having an interest in the arts, which fuels many of ATEEZ’s heists on respected institutions. Many well-known works are said to be in ATEEZ’s vault, regularly inspected by the Captain. Not much is known of his appearance, as his second-in-command handles the majority of interactions with lower ranks. The Captain only shows his face to his closest and most trusted members, the 7 in his inner circle. It is said that the Captain is unstable and prone to lashing out recklessly.
KNOWN SECOND-IN-COMMAND: ‘SH’
SH is supposedly the initials of ATEEZ’s de facto leader. While he is not considered to be in control, it is well-known that he handles the majority of ATEEZ’s decisions. He is described as cold, calculated, and apathetic. While physical descriptions vary, there seems to be a general consensus in the criminal world that SH has shoulder-length hair, which he tends to style in a bun. SH is said to be the Captain’s chief advisor, always acting on his orders yet quite often suggesting next steps himself. SH wears grills on occasion as a sign of wealth and power, and is not shy to spend on ATEEZ’s celebrations.
KNOWN ASSOCIATE: Jung Yunho
The NIS has been keeping tabs on Jung Yunho since his abrupt rise to power in December 2021. While there is no punishable connection between the businessman (nor his company, Jung Enterprises) and ATEEZ, Jung has been spotted near previous locations of interest. Jung’s company seems to be thriving despite its cryptic description of its purpose, to an extent that pushes the boundaries of usual business profits. It is possible that Jung Enterprises acts as a front for ATEEZ, simply working on a larger scale than what fronts tend to do. Jung is known to have a wife and a child, but also frequents clubs in his spare time.
KNOWN ASSOCIATE: Kang Yeosang
In his time practicing law, Kang Yeosang has worked with members of ATEEZ on multiple occasions. While he is not directly affiliated, and in a democracy allowed to practice as he chooses, it is suspected that his firm is under ATEEZ’s control. While he is on retainer to them, he has been known to act as defense counsel for a number of high-profile cases, mostly of criminal nature. It is not known how many in his firm may work for ATEEZ, but it can be assumed that all are aware. He successfully won a RICO case for a smaller gang that is heavily affiliated with ATEEZ, known as ‘XIKERS’.
UNKNOWN ASSOCIATE: ‘The Rat’
The Rat is a member of NIS closely linked to ATEEZ. We suspect him to be a high-ranking official within our institution, hence why only those with platinum-level security clearance are privy to these documents. The Rat is suspected to be leaking information to ATEEZ to ensure they cannot be captured. While it is unknown whether the Rat has been blackmailed into serving ATEEZ, it is assumed the Rat is not actively trying to stop ATEEZ. Below is a list of suspected NIS members that could be the Rat:
Kim Jungwoo, Deputy Director of Domestic Counterintelligence
Choi Yeonjun, Director in charge of North Korean and Foreign Intelligence
Jung Wooyoung, Head of the Planning and Communications Office
Lee Yongbok/Lee Felix, Director of Cybersecurity & Science and Technology
UNKNOWN MEMBER: ‘MT’
MT is an elusive honey pot that seems to do the majority of ATEEZ’s dirty work that is sensationalised within the media. MT is known to seduce, blackmail, torture, and/or murder targets. MT’s gender is unknown, so for the purpose of this document we will be referring to MT as him. It is assumed that MT is highly unstable and impulsive, as quite frequently he partakes in non-utilitarian crime aside those in the benefit of ATEEZ. MT is described as absurdly attractive, inevitably functioning as a homme fatale who can lure anyone into his web of lies. MT is of high risk and must not be approached under any circumstances if his true identity is discovered.
UNKNOWN MEMBER: ‘The Fixer’
The Fixer is known to be a tall man with a significantly deep voice, who is in charge of training new recruits within ATEEZ. It is rumored that his alias is not derived from his current work, but from his previous role as an assassin for ATEEZ. The Fixer is said to have retired after suffering a severe injury, impeding his ability to function in the field. Multiple sources confirm he was underground for a period of time, with ATEEZ functioning without him, so he could return to good health. The Fixer now ensures new recruits are adequate, culling the weak. His tactics are said to be extremely effective, bolstering the rise of ATEEZ within the criminal underworld in the past year. The Fixer is said to be a formidable foe, even past his peak.
UNKNOWN MEMBER: ‘Strike’
Strike is considered to be one of the most prolific assassins on the global stage. While Strike is known to be a man-for-hire, the majority of his hits are for ATEEZ. It is rumoured that he was trained by the Fixer after he returned to train new recruits, so it can be assumed that he is the Fixer’s protégé and rose through the ranks of ATEEZ. Strike gained his alias for his clean sheet, known throughout the underworld for his impeccable ability. A total of twenty three NIS agents and/or partner agencies (both domestic and foreign) have been assassinated by him, confirmed by the hand-engraved bullets used. When completing hits for ATEEZ, Strike uses bullets with their insignia on it.
CONCLUSIONS:
ATEEZ are a formidable foe that threaten the entire stability of our country. The NIS must proceed with caution before we take action to ensure the complete and utter destruction of this syndicate.
