Hmm. Seems I’ve been moved to the new version of the tumblr dashboard.
Everything looks subtly different. I like the new icons, but I’m not fond of the new font.
Palettes is great — different people want different levels of contrast, and it’s good to finally provide that. It also feels loyal to tumblr’s original vision of customisability (see: all the custom blog themes).
But I’m very annoyed that they’ve forced infinite scroll on me. I can’t find any way to switch back to page mode. I suspect I’m going to constantly lose my place and miss posts now.
And of course it breaks xkit, so I’ve lost timestamps and I can’t easily hide elements I don’t want.
Welp.
I made it to nearly 8000 tabs, but I seem to have finally reached the end of my RAM’s patience. Firefox won’t launch anymore.
Time to back up that browser session and start a new one.
Oh, that’s pretty neat.
That popular post I opened a couple hours ago (with the intent to share around to non-tumblr friends) has now been marked as adult now so nobody can see it. I assumed the bot would check things when they were actually posted, but no, apparently it can just jump onto existing posts after they’ve been doing the rounds for a while and eliminate them.
Using the still-open tab from earlier, I reblogged it to my own blog just to check the problem, and now I have a banner glued to the top of my screen warning me to review my ‘adult’ post. But I cannot request a review on it, presumably because it’s someone else’s post. So helpful.
There isn’t even anything wrong with the post. It’s a cat video.

Hey, fun fact: if you’re using pages (rather than infinite scroll), tumblr seems to have broken the ability to go back a page! If you press the ‘Previous’ button in the dashboard, it just shows you the most recent posts instead. Isn’t that helpful?
