kore , don’t go wandering alone ! don’t come back too late , kore , you might get lost ! oh but how did her mother expect her to learn the full complexity of her duties if she wasn’t allowed a moment’s peace and solitude ? of course , she never paid too much attention to her mother’s warnings . more often than not , the harvest goddess was driven by the imperative need to protect her daughter in ways that kore despised being protected . it ceased , easily so , to be protection : it was control . who was she to control the growth and bloom ? the mother of life and death cycles , a small voice in her mind would remind her . it sounded , worryingly , like her father’s .
for good measure , she looked around and up at the skies . there wasn’t a single other soul wandering the woods , she’d managed to lose hermes to his other duties and her sweettalking dotes hours ago . the sound of running water reached her , not too far away , and bare feet hurried through the soil ; grass , weeds and flowers sprouting with her every step infused with excitement . the goddess had only heard stories of the rivers that encircled the earth , never allowed to them on her own , always restrained or driven away by the nymphs and naiads that inhabited them ; like they had been told to keep her away , not allowed to play with her even , to talk more than hissing words of discourage . the woods finished abruptly and gave place to a river that ran , vivacious , and could be traced to its origin if one were to look with careful eye amidst the mountains far away in the horizon , but one could not determine where it led to . kore’s breath caught at her throat , feet moving slower as she made her way to the edge of the river and laid on her stomach , staring down at the water , making circles on it with her index finger , her long hair hanging as the continuation of her head , perched over the edge . “ where are you going to , oh - so hurriedly , mr . fish ? “ the young goddess questioned a small grayling that swam below her hand and didn’t stop to wait for its fellow fishes and , of course , didn’t stop to answer --- not that one was expected .

Dim lights paint the walls with the silhouettes of seven bodies gathered in the middle of the room. From the other side of the door, victorious jeers and the ringing in of loot contrasts the bone chilling silence within the four walls. The taunting tick of the analog clock is deafening as the night draws on and the smell of death, mingled with rotting wallpaper, sits heavy in the private room of the casino.
Soomin’s nails tap against the wood of the table, body leaned back with ease. Empty eyes meticulously examine the features of men and women with nothing to lose. Not a single one looks like they belong, but money made humans do some bizarre things. Her eyes flicker to the briefcase sitting in the corner of the room, a rectangular man standing on guard before it. If the slouch of his body isn’t enough to showcase his boredom, the long drawn yawn contorting his disproportionate features is. Soomin in theory, crafted by anyone looking at the room through a logical lens, was there for the money. Soomin in actuality and at heart, wasn’t there for the money. It was clear, from the pressed look of her tailored suit to the sheen on polished shoes that she had more than enough of that and then some.
Soomin Han was there because she believed herself to be larger than God. Nothing had ever been able to touch her before, and nothing had ever survived her own touch. This would be no different.
When the invitation had come from a client, she had been skeptical. Regularly dealing with criminals, whether innocent or guilty, had resulted in a habit of perpetual disbelief. You couldn’t trust them when they swore with their palm against their entire belief system, and especially not when a jury was sure they deserved freedom. She’s weaselled enough men and women into the public’s good favour to know that words had power. Her words had power, but so did her pride. It’s that pride that had her prodding at the mention of a challenge, one inquiry after another anytime his demeanour suggested that she wasn’t up to it. So when he’s got her undivided attention, when she’s fallen prey to his carefully planned out ploy, he tells her all about it. The cash, the thrill, the victory.
Her victory.
One she can practically taste, oh so sweet, with very little understanding of the consequences that came with it. For Soomin could care less about most of the strangers crammed into close quarters, but she’d be a liar if she tried to say her eyes had left the familiar face sitting across from her since she had walked in. Family was not a concept Soomin understood well. With absent parents and frequently changing nannies, there were few she could call her own. But the notion of kin was not lost on her and the pull of heartstrings was evident as flashbacks of gatherings and parties dance through her memories. They’d laughed together and cried together. More than can be said about anyone else in Soomin’s life. However brief their interactions were, however many faked under the pretence of formality, they had occurred and the reality of it weighed down on her more than ever before.
It unnerves her the way her leg bounces under the table with an overwhelming feeling of anxiety that was foreign to the otherwise confident (read: cocky) lawyer. There was only one way to rid herself of it, and that sat in the center or the table.
“Cowards,” she states like a fact as slim arm darts forward to gingerly pull the revolver towards her. With the way she cradles it in her palm, it’s clear that she’s never handled one. The man in the corner lifts his foot to step forward before she snaps at him. “I know how this works.”
Knuckles go white with the grip she has on the hilt, staring down the barrel for a second as breath catches in the back of her throat. It’s almost like a switch flicked on with the way her hesitation drops and she presses the gun to her temple. She stares not at her cousin, but at the man tasked to babysit them.
The pull of a trigger and the seconds that come before it.
A hollow click lets her exhale the breathe she hadn’t realized she was holding. Soomin and death had always danced in tune with each other, and she could feel him beam down on her once again.
“Hope it’s you, nothing personal.” Is all she says as she nudges the gun to the unfortunate soul on her right.
“ wei. ” ricky didn’t bother to close his eyes, as he’s overly familiar with the drunken slur and the unbelievable post-nine-jaeger-bombs breath.
“ will you please haud yer wheesht, you’re mouth is defying the laws of biology by making the already natural stench of your apartment even worse. ”
weixin ╳ ⋮ ———— " AH, MATE, ” WEIXIN muses, his accent swinging wildly between his american && his australian ( a cute party trick of his when he gets hammered ) . “ you’re even harder to understand drunk. ” && he may have just had nine, but ten && eleven are looking pretty good in his hands right now. “ i thought getting shitfaced would help, since i’ll finally be speaking your language. ” he wiggles a few fingers at ricky’s face before taking both shots in quick succession with a macabre sort of ease.
“ ay, shit, my fuckin’ contacts are drying in my eyeballs... ” – [ 🏛️ ]
@atlvntida asked: ‘ why don’t we take a nap together? we can be nap buddies. ’ 《 from daehwan to chris 》

❝ yeah, maybe. ❞ but his eyes are trained on the display in front of him. he’d sayed in the studio overnight again, pulling long hours to get the track finished because he was worried if he stopped, he’d lose the melody in his mind. though, the demo was almost done, really there was no harm in a nap. so he spins around in the chair & lets out a deep breathe. ❝ actually a nap sounds pretty good right now. ❞ & as if on cue, a yawn passes his lips. ❝ nap buddies it is. ❞
aelius ╳ ⋮ ———— AELIUS USUALLY DOESN’T fly out to taiwan ;; as a matter of fact, he usually didn’t fly out of country all that often. it wasn’t as if he didn’t have any business opportunities outside of the states—if anything, he had too many, with god knows the number of hungry entrepreneurs && bloated ceos just trying to cut lines && get ahead in any way they could. but he likes to think himself smart ;; far too smart to be leaving his own turf && playing into someone else’s hands. you don’t get to where he is in life by making mistakes.
coming to see daojian though ;; it could very well be a mistake in the making , but aelius thinks he can allow himself one curiosity every once in a while && he had grown curious about his little assassin. usually, he hired out multiple hands, going by multiple names && bank account so it was hard to lead everything back to him. so to stick with daojian so long ( && not have him taken out at some point ) was different. strange. && it was no accident.
just like it wasn’t an accident that aelius flew out to taiwan && politely asked ( with a small plastic bag full of new taiwan dollars in thousand denominations ) a small shop owner if he could rent out his modest restaurant for the night. it’s not his usual haunt && frankly, it was a forgettable place ;; but he thinks its asynchronicity gave it its charm. that, && it made it hard to find , though the bodyguards placed around the area made sure of that.
aelius is deeply considering his glass of kavalan whiskey when he hears the metal door in the back shutter open && closed. looking up, he smiles at daojian—far taller than he might have expected, but he can see why he might be so good at his job. “ i hope i haven’t troubled you by asking you to a late dinner, ” he says, his accent a clear mainland accent. different, though he has come to love the rolling sounds of the taiwanese accent too. he picks up the bottle of whiskey && pours daojian a drink as he then asks, “ do you drink? ” – [ 💸 ]

who’s your most used FC , what’s an old RP trend that you miss , what’s an old RP trend that you DON’T miss , & what’s your favorite part about RPing? ♡
mun questions ! questions for the mun !
oh boy , i have seasons ???? i’ve become really fond of adelaide kane though , and now i have to resist the temptation to use kristine froseth for Everything , but def adelaide kane ( amount of resources , i Know the resources , adaptability of the resources , i love her face ) .
an old rp trend i miss .... i remember when people hyped eachother up , like really , really hyped . like random shoutout posts , and self promo reblogging with these bigass messages of like THIS PERSON IS THE TEA and stuff . i don’t know that’s a trend ? but i feel like that’ changed . in many ways , the indie rpc has become way more distant .
a trend i don’t miss is definitely the smaller - than - butthole , two - colored icons . the themes that were impossible to navigate with no contrasting colours not even in the text sections . the tHEME BANNERS fuck . i worked so hard to understand photoshop in those times , but in the end it was worth Nothing because i forgot all of it .
my fave thing abt rping would have to be the ooc talking , like the bonding with ppl over characters , and fandoms , and headcanon throwing and plotting , and fRiEndShip with genuine interest for the other mun . i rlly love friends . also i heavily love memes . and headcanon throwing . yes . headcanon throwing .
kitae ╳ ⋮ ———— FINDING TAI EN always feels like one of the most complex games of hide-and-seek. one which kitae habitually loses, because he’s so historically slow on the uptake ( but what else is new? ) . at the very least, he had been told that it’s part of his CHARM ;; at least he thinks.
whatever the case, kitae tries to hunt him down in one of his usual haunts. he can smell him, but as usual, he’s not so good at looking up.
“ tai en, ” he calls ( is it a whisper? a shout? kitae doesn’t even seem to know ) . “ tai en come out. ” – [🐾]
