“So, before we get started there are forms to be signed.” Lena began without preamble as she led Mera into the lab. “In order to judge the best way to balance your physiological needs I’ll need to run tests on blood and tissue samples - and I can’t take those without your consent.” She held a clipboard with the forms attached out to Mera, doing her best to fix a comforting smile on her face. “If you don’t want to do any of it, I understand. I won’t force you too. And we can stop at any point. If you’re ever uncomfortable I need you to tell me and we won’t go further unless you want to, okay?” She promised. Taking samples could often feel invasive for most humans - Lena had no idea the science conducted by Atlanteans, if they would have an even greater discomfort over being poked and prodded by needles, especially by someone who was not of their people.
