Yeah since I planned on being an archaeologist I didn’t want to have to worry about dealing with an actual Afro or braids while working on a project/excavation. However, I have since changed my mind with that path but decided to keep the locs.

It’s okay, we all start off being trash at it unless you have a natural knack for hair. Good thing there are plenty tutorials on blogs, Pinterest, and YOUTUBE! Trust me this hardly ever comes naturally. Our moms gotta practically embed it into us to do and be good at our hair. Happy to hear that you think it’s 😍

I believe that my curl pattern is in between 4b/4c if it’s not 4c completely. It’s kind of difficult to determine now since I have dreadlocks. However, when the new growth falls out sometimes, when I’m brushing it, my hair still grows in a kinky, coily way. 😊

Yeah, the Pre-Raphaelite question came from the Wooyoung fic you wrote (but you probably already knew that). I’ve been wanting to ask you that question since I saw that you do art. I was honestly expecting you to say something along the lines of other people that I have come across in my life. Someone that I respect said, “the more I look at it the more uncomfortable I feel”. I just wanted to know if something was inherently wrong with them and if you felt the same way because you seem to be much more knowledgeable on art than I am. I was still going to like Pre-Raphaelite art regardless, though.
Well your responses to all of them caught me off guard, but in a good way. It broke from the basics that I usually see. Especially Wooyoung focusing on African Culture within his major. I, honestly, thoroughly enjoyed reading your responses. It brought me back to my days in undergrad and being an anthropology major.
I’ve noticed that I struggle with just like... being heard or having people listen to me, speaking, getting my point across, etc. So I try to just make what I say count sometimes. I would talk more but have a complex about people finding out how dumb I truly am. 🤪

I cannot recall anyone ever telling me that. Maybe once or twice in high school by my favorite history teacher (we got into a long conversation about Alexander Hamilton back before it was a popular Broadway Musical).
You’ve really got me thinking long and hard about this 🤔. It’s interesting that you say that because I’m usually someone that takes pretty much anything at face value unless it doesn’t sit right with me. When I first saw this ask, I was wondering if it was truly meant for me. If you don’t want to, then you don’t have to, but I am curious what would make you say that?
At this point in my life I am trying to change and ask more questions and be more firm instead of crying over everything as “I take it lying down.” (that last phrase probably made no sense. sorry.)
