“...mmmgh...” The glitch buried his face into the pillow, enjoying the rest he was getting. He stirred “...warm...” He murmured quietly, not wanting to open his eyes. No, he was, perhaps, the most comfortable he had ever been in his entire life. A hand touched his back, causing him to jolt and sit upright immediately, startled.
“Hey? Hey, sorry...I...” Nightmare grimaced, watching Error rub his eyes. “I didn’t know you were partially awake...”
“...o-okay...” Error blinked, still half-asleep.
“...d’you wanna go or...just sleep longer?” Nightmare enquired, the glitch tilted his head, confused.
“...go where?”
“...destroy.”
“Oh...uhh...sure.” He nodded, shuffling out of bed. Nightmare smiled slightly, Error stretched, his spine letting out a satisfying crack. “...what universe?” He followed Nightmare out of his bedroom, into the hallway, towards the throne room.
“Whatever we target.” Nightmare responded simply, Error paused, even more bemused.
“...you mean you don’t even plan a universe to attack?” He asked warily, Nightmare shrugged.
“Sometimes I let one of the others decide...”
“Yeah but...” He trailed off, uncertain. Nightmare looked at him, grinning slightly, holding out a hand.
“...you coming?”
“Y...yeah, I just...” Error rubbed at his eyes more, padding up beside the oil monster.
“...y’know...I’m sorry for scaring you...?” Nightmare mumbled quietly, Error glanced at him, not knowing what to say. “...you don’t trust me because of what I did...” He stopped in his tracks, moving in front of Error. “Is...is your ribcage getting better or...?” At that point, Error could hear the hesitance in Nightmare’s voice.
“...it still hurts when I touch it...” He muttered, drowning into a whisper, not sure about his reaction.
“You know...you don’t have to come? We can...always delay it until you get better?”
“No...no, I’ll be fine.” Error shook his head “...I can deal with it...” He watched Nightmare’s gaze fall, fidgeting slightly with his jacket’s zip.
“...I...think you should stay here...” He murmured, Error only stared at him. “...you’re hurt and...it’d be better for you to rest more...”
“...but I don’t want to.”
“I don’t care if you ‘don’t want to’...you need to.” Nightmare stated, staring right back at the glitch. He pushed him backwards slowly, with Error almost keeling over in pain, feeling Nightmare’s hands on his ribs. Immediately, Nightmare flinched back, not intending to hurt him. “S...sorry...” He whimpered, a fluorescent blue liquid began swimming in his eye. “...I-I...”
“...N/igh/t...?” Error could only watch as the oil monster closed in on himself, gripping his forehead with his hands. He trembled, his oil dripping off excessively, so suddenly scared.
