synesthesia?
when i was a kid my mom showed me an essential oil for the first time. it was lavander. i put it up to my nose and immediately said, "that smells like purple!" what? i don't know what else to tell you, that smells like purple. it works the same for most other smells, too, like if you gave me something to smell i could look around the room or find a picture to pinpoint the colour it feels like. i don't see any colours though, it's more like a feeling.
music feels like tingles all over the back of my neck and down my shoulders, sometimes my arms and legs as well, it depends. i dont know if that's something other people experience. as a kid it made me uncomfortable, i remember being embarrassed by it, like others could see it on me or on my face.
it's been happening to me a lot when i'm singing, or when someone close to me is singing. i recently went to my first concert and that was an experience. best night of my life.
