So I watched SAO Progressive Movie 1.
Can't for the life of me figure out why I see people say Mito is a bad addition, I've not watched part 2 so maybe she falls off there but I really like the way she mirrors Kirito in the film. Almost every time we see something new related to Aincrad someone gets "remembered" and personally, Asuna sitting in an inn room for two months isn't an origin story that's too sacred to change. If anything her being mentored and having that experience makes her actions with the boss raid team make more sense. Plus Mito teaching her removes some level of Kirito being the centre of everything and he still has that mentor role even if it's not from zero. Plus I really like the part where Kirito realises he's just saved a girl and immediately understands why she might be unwilling to trust him as an escort. It's such a small touch but it says so much about the lives people had during the first floor era of SAO. Also, since I like to geek out about stuff like fictional UI design, I adore the number of UI shots, and am now trying to remember if there's ever a mention of an SAO survivor trying to swipe for the menu in the real world.
