Pairing: Seungmin x Reader(3rd person POV)
Word Count: ~300 words
Summary: You and Seungmin have a rhythm. It’s effortless, domestic, and—according to everyone else—entirely too intimate for "just friends." Tonight, the silence speaks louder than either of you intended.

The doorknob rattled as the door creaked open, the sound loud in the quiet atmosphere of the apartment. She didn't even have to look up to know who had so blatantly let themselves in.
Seungmin trudged through the doorway, the bag on his shoulder slumping onto a nearby barstool. Looking up from her novel, her eyes met his. Her gaze scanned his frame, recognizing the hunch of his shoulders and the soft, unfocused look in his eyes. He didn't say a word as he drifted toward the couch, and she didn't offer one. The only sounds in the space were his quiet but heavy steps against the occasional rustle of a turning page.
Plopping down on the couch, he let out a quiet sigh, his eyes meeting her own for a fleeting second, then his head simply found its way into her lap.
He settled there with a quiet sigh, his face tucking into the soft fabric of her clothes. She looked down at him, a small smile pulling at her lips. Her free hand, now resting on his shoulder, made its way up into his hair. Seungmin leaned into her touch, a contented sigh coming from his lips. Her fingers carded through his soft locks, twirling the slight curls at his ends absentmindedly while her other hand turned the page.
As the words caught her attention, the rhythmic motion of her fingers faltered. Instinctively, her hand drifted away from the soft mess of his hair, her fingers finding the edge of the paper to steady the book as she leaned closer to the text. She didn’t even realize she’d done it; her focus had simply shifted, narrowing down to the ink on the page in front of her.
Another second passed, and the absence of sound was loud. Seungmin let out a small, restless hum against her. Finally looking down from her book, her attention found him again. Her hand made its way back to where it belonged while her book came to rest between Seungmin and her knee. As soon as her fingers caressed his scalp, he finally stilled, the tension leaving him all at once.

Minho returns home from a long practice to a house that is uncharacteristically quiet. No meows, no weaving tails, just the hum of the fridge. But as he wanders into the living room, he finds the reason for the silence—and a sight that makes his heart ache with a warmth he can't quite name
Minho fumbled with his keys, his fingers clumsy as he jabbed at the lock. The door swung open, hinges whispering in the quiet night. Shuffling through the doorway, The practice bag slid from his shoulder, hitting the ground with a heavy, muffled thud that seemed to echo through the quiet peace of the hallway. He waited for the familiar weight of Soonie weaving through his ankles, but the hallway remained still. Only the hum of the fridge answered the silence where the usual greeting of meows should have been.
Thirsty, Minho made his way down the corridor and to the right. His hand moved on autopilot, wrapping around the cabinet handle and pulling it open. He didn't even have to look to find his favorite glass. As he turned, the familiar etching of the glass felt cold against his palm, but his eyes trailed along the floor. The cat bowls were empty—a quiet reminder of the recipe she’d been so excited about.
Minho turned back towards the fridge, the steady stream of water grounding him in the quiet space. He padded out of the kitchen, his pace a quiet, familiar rhythm against the hardwood. He was headed toward the living room, the glass of water a cool weight in his hand, when his gaze finally lifted—
He froze. The water rimmed the glass, droplets threatening to spill over. Minho's breath hitched, caught in his throat as his eyes scanned the domestic scene unfolding.
There she was, fast asleep on the armchair, chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. The sight itself made his heart flutter with warm, cozy feelings he couldn't name. The four cats —his three boys and her kitten—were all draped over her as she slept. It was as if they had claimed her as their own, and watching them, Minho felt his heart ache, an unknown warmth spreading through his chest.
Doongie was splayed across her torso, head tucked into her chest. He was mesmerized by the way Dori was tucked into her neck while Soonie anchored her legs. He’d always known she was special, but seeing his cats—his stubborn, wary boys—surrender to her so completely made his thoughts run wild.
Somehow, through all the beautiful chaos, his mind was focused on one thing:
Her.
a/n: This is my very first time posting my writing! I’ve revised this drabble quite a few times to get the soft, domestic vibes just right. I’d love to hear what you think! ♡
