A Count’s Governor [closed]
It was midnight, and the street dark and silent but safe. The young vampire had no time to appreciate this, however, and strolled along the sidewalk staring at his phone, reading his emails, setting dates, and responding to memos as quickly as he could. It gave him pause when he saw one particular message from his most recent client, an elderly man and seasoned statesman named Dooku. He generally only contacted the albino if it was important, yet, this message seemed trivial. It was only a “hello” followed by a reminder to leave room for their meeting next week. Odd.
Fate mused on the situation as it stood. This new client certainly made the job easy for him, with none of the usual nagging. Advertisements came naturally; Dooku was a good speaker. Being from a small town in Illinois, he had the whole “rural charm” gag going for him as well. He was handsome enough in his age, and regrettably that was a huge selling point with the idiot population these days. It mattered little anymore if the leader sounded intelligent in his speech, if he could tell you his plan; now, it was all about looks, for the most part. Were they crowd pleasing? It was fortunate that Dooku sold himself well, otherwise such a competent leader might not have fared so well in the eyes of the public. At the moment, the ducks appeared to be lining up of their own accord.
And Fate was glad to support this candidate. He found Dooku to be an intellectual who promised great things, perhaps a trait common to politicians, but what made him unique was his clear capability to fulfill said promises. It was an honor to work with him.
Reaching the front doors of his temporary office on the closest thing to a business district (everything seemed to be within walking distance here; it was quite pleasant), he strutted right in and put on his winning, most business man-like smile for the woman behind the desk, then took the elevator up to his private office room. If anyone wanted to speak with him, the secretary downstairs would let him know.
Undoing the lower button on his blazer, he set to work planning the next little expo.
