thinking about posting dev logs for my shitty rinky dink friend group fork for ss14... i dont got anything to show right now except for the fact i'm considering switching from goobstation to starlight, mainly because goob feels like it has the design philosophy of a modern roblox update
weird fucking bug i'm encountering is the IC / OOC info tabs seem to bug out completely in pre-built releases and also if i build it myself, not sure what's going on there because it works fine in debug...
i guess i'll tag this with ss14 idk what else to tag it with lmao

small dev log, cause im lazy, but while i work on the hellish process of trying to figure out this really bizarre starlight bug, i'm porting shit from my old goob fork to it. some cool stuff i made a while ago that i wanna show off

mopscythe. it's for a custom maid role that i added to my fork, it's a security role that also functions as a janitor because we have such a small playercount that usually we don't have sec lmao
obviously, it is a mop that turns into a scythe. yes it works as both an actual weapon and also a mop. it took me literally a month to figure out the yaml for and was my first custom item. it kinda sucks yaml wise but like. i tried ok lmao
councilor/councilman pistol, it's pre-loaded with "memory wipe" bullets, but theres a few other bullets it can use, too. the council is kind of like our lore's leadership for nanotrasen. just kind of imagine the O5 council from scp if you want an idea of them
these were going to be apart of a series of race banners for all of the races in our forks. of course the only one i ever finished was humans (the purple/black/white one) and i kinda started on diona (the pink/green one), but i never finished it cause i lost motivation for a time. so here all you have is a wip.
yes, the human flag design was taken from starbound, this is because i intended to add the starbound races to my fork eventually
last but not least (because i actually added way more than this im just too lazy to show every single piece. ill probably show more in a future post) i added homestuck troll things to onis (since we had those in goob, ill probably port them to our starlight fork) because i felt like it. aka i just added grubscars and fins really. no pics because im lazy and dont want to open the slnx file

soo uhhh i figured out how to port the sandevistan from goobstation over to starlight, this has been a little funny for me because i dont know any c# so i've had to fuck around and find out a lot
why did i do this, you may ask? it is so i could put chronos from katana zero in my fork. why? idk i just thought it'd be funny lmao. the sandevistan is the closest thing mechanically we had in goob so yeah. of course im gonna change the textures and shit and configure stuff until i think its accurate but so far im cooking
i tried to also import autosurgeons from goob and then i realized that one might be above my skill level of "mash code fragments together until something happens the way i want it to" but also that was before i had the epiphany of 'look up similar components in starlight and pray they are an equivalent' so i might give it another shot
i loathe the inevitable travesty that is going to be porting the goob races over to my starlight fork.

i have nothing to show for this dev log because i only just now started working on it and my immediate first porting was rework all of the reagents i made in my previous fork
also because i stared at the behemoth that was my worst creation and concluded that remaking it might turn me into AM from IHNMAIMS in real fucking life
