“Good Morning,” she said. Death tipped his hat politely, scythe gleaming. “The Sun will rise, but so will endings. The Fool skips past me, but you, are you really living before I knock on your door?”
Well, that was a bit much for before breakfast she thought. Still, it struck a nerve. What about that book she’d been putting off, the adventures she dreamed of, all the hours lost to tea and other people’s opinions?
“Do you know what, I jolly well will,” she said, hands on hips. Death grinned his bony grin. Close call. Time to get moving.
The Death card doesn’t mean anyone is about to shuffle off. It means your old skin is ready to shed. It means transformation is waiting, like a phoenix bursting from the ashes. Every day is a page, every page a chance to begin again.
