Firstly, I just want to thank you for all your insightful posts! You've given us a goldmine of info to peruse and ponder! As for my question -- I know this might be super controversial but i'm just curious if you've noticed any astrological placements that could point to transgenderism/feeling like you were born in the wrong body...? Not judging, just curious.
Hey there beautiful!
Thank you for your encouraging words this is literally the reason why i'm soooo excited to put in more&more effort into my posts for yall🖤
In addition to that, ofcourse I'll be more than happy to answer your question! let's get right into this post shall we🥳
–Astro & Homosexuality
For today, I'd try to discuss transgenderism in astrology at the start and will touch base on homosexuality in general as I think the conversation for the whole community & astro should be saved for another day!
So from my perspective, I've always been a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and one of the reason why I was very skeptical when I first learned astro was because the mainstream media has molded it into pinterest pictures with bullet points, grouping the 12 sun signs in a box with stereotypical ideas. Not only that, you can find a lot of "Zodiac Signs and how they are in bed"(LOL for instance) which lacks a lot of crucial info and should rather be read for fun only.
But more often than not, I'd come across post where there would be a lot of short-sighted post, where they'd talk abt the zodiac sign's men&women and assuming heterosexual roles for the men&women of the signs. While I know that these posts usually are harmless and are only there for entertainment purpose, I really don't want anyone to unconsciously feel left out or singled out by the astro community.
In addition, you can see (even in some of my posts in the past) theres a lot of post which assign feminine energy&masculine energy to certain aspects or signs and when I first started astrology, I didn't realize how harmful and how damaging this can look. Astrology has been around for a long time and simply saying "Oh if you have Venus square Uranus or Neptune then you must be gay" is extremely subjective and homosexuality is not a perversion. Astrology has always had such a strong connection to everyone and astrology is never limited in any instances.
Hermaphroditus was the son of Hermes and Aphrodite in Greek mythology. He was born as a boy, and was raised by naiad nymph on Mount Ida. When he reached the age of fifteen, he decided to explore further from his surroundings and eventually reached the forest of Caria near Halicarnassus. There, he met the nymph Salmacis in a pool, who was overcome with desire for the boy. However, she was rejected by him. Then, when Salmacis had left, he undressed and entered the pool. Salmacis then suddenly appeared and wrapped herself around him. While he was trying to evade her, she asked the gods to be forever united with Hermaphroditus and the gods listened to her wish. As a result, their bodies were blended into one and became a creature of two sexes.
Since the ancient Mesopotamian and originally mythic time, astrology has changed and developed with the times. It is quite amazing that the interpretations of the nature of their gods have survived to this day . . . with contemporary clothes, if you will. The gods that underlie the naming of the planets are no coincidence, but more a synchronicity with the times and culture.
This is what astrologers have to say when it comes to this matter:
" if we try to “genderize” astrology, we do limit it..rather we should look at gender issues through the eyes of the horoscope, and how the individual person can come to terms with his or her individuality and simply be a healthy person!!! The chart tells us what kind of a person is this, and in what way are they inclined toward what areas. If transgenderism or other-ness is involved, then the chart tells us how he or she is dealing with any issues that can and will arise with making this “normal” instead of a cultish thing. This will happen, it is meant to happen, there will come a day when there is no issue with gender, BUT there will always be issues with being a human being!"
I also think that The planets' aspects to each other are the most important factor in reading a chart! The interaction between a person's Moon and the other planets, as well as the Sun's aspect/conversation with the other planets, may indicate a role reversal in the parental archetype. This is why, lets take my Saturn in 10H post for example, Saturn here can be anyone to you, doesn't matter their gender but rather their influence on you 10H, and the role they took. My experience with Saturn 10H greatly differs from others as I see Saturn here as my father, yet others may see it as their mother-who was harsher on then and tend to pushes them to perfection more.
Also, in a woman’s horoscope, Mars is the capacity for her use of her innate drive, desire, passion, ambition, cultivation, focus, direction; and ability to really get her life out there and done. The sign and aspects to anyone’s Mars will tell us the manner for extroverting herself in ways that are productive. If she keeps her Mars function stifled and projected onto “men”, then, she can introject her own anger, and become passive aggressive, thus unable to complete or finish ideas or projects. And, become a rather difficult partner – for anyone!
Women and Mars are natural “mates” – the animus is “the man we all would love to be” (and the anima, the woman we all would love to be) and both can be projected out onto an actual guy or “men” as a collective (or a woman). In classical myth, Ares and Aphrodite mated, and produced a girl child, and her name is Harmonia. So the God of War and the Goddess of Passion/Love can bring Harmony to us.
So a lot of astrologers had agreed that it is impossible to know the sex by looking at the chart.
But we can say this for example, that Mars in 11H people or Mars aspecting Uranus are more inclined to experimental, since its the individual's love for eccentricity and uncoventional that lead them to be more curious with all aspects of sexual experiences! Yet we can't say that Mars in 11H will have a higher chances of being gay(💀)
In Relationships and Life Cycle by Arroyo, he said link Venus/Pluto aspects with “sexual problems”. He states that: “Homosexual or bisexual inclinations are not uncommon; and even in those who don’t act out all their urges, there is often an intense emotional resentment towards either the person’s own sex or towards those of the opposite sex.”💀💀💀💀
Heres what Peter Clamp, a famous astrologer has to say about Arroyo's book:
" Arroyo like some other psychological astrologers, links coldness, impersonality and promiscuity with being homosexual with not a shred of evidence for this connection, reinforcing the hoary, unsubstantiated old cliches and myths about gay and lesbian people, and pandering to the homophobic collective shadow."
To me, Uranus indicates something “different”, but being different doesn't mean they identify with homosexuality, it can mean they like to play out different positions in experimental sex for all I know💀
So to answer your question, as someone who believe in exclusivity, I would say no, I don't think astrology can predict transgenderism but I do think people can feel as if they are born into a body that they don't feel comfortable with will have some harsh aspects between Venus-ASC, 10H ruler-ASC, 2H ruler-ASC, Saturn-ASC, etc
I really hope I can offer you some insights luv, here are some good read if you are interested in reading more about this topic:
