astrangebohemian replied to your post: Almost everything they had in their gift shop was just like the current line of haunted mansion things at WDW like the tombstone holders, gargoyle candlestick holders, hour glass, I was very dissapointed ** For a few years now, Disney's opted for a "generic" way of doing merchandise, so that it can be sold in as many parks as possible. Easier on the manufacturing and shipping end, I'm sure, but disappointing from a fan standpoint. As great as it is that there's ride specific stuff at all, (don't get me wrong on that! I love that HM and PotC are getting shelves upon shelves of merchandise for their rides), it's a bummer that it's normally not park specific. Some stuff is expected to be the same, because there are a lot of similarities and things fans across the globe want. On the other hand, it's hard to find anything with the likeness of the WDW Mansion, as opposed to just DL's, or the antebellum design stretched with the greenhouse attached so it's a blend. Profit and ease of production will always be bottom line, and I understand that. But I do love seeing the different mansions and manors get love. Each is a work of art in its own right. ^_^
