a starter for @astrallithid
Things had been jarring for the fallen General since his arrival in Spirale, but not so much as jarring as the lack of presence of a divine power in his life. Where might he had felt the hint of the hand of his Lord, there was only a vast, empty void of nothing. Not even a hint of a touch of death on him, though he could still tell his heart beat with necrotic energy. A confusing matter to wake up in, especially when everything else was so vastly different.
This was not his world, that much was clear. There was nothing reminiscent of the world he had just been, though that alone felt ages ago. But Ketheric was not a man who would find himself driven to panic from confusion. He had instantly done what he could to locate a hint of the familiar, or anything he could learn.
It would seem that he would not have to go too far. Though no tadpole had been planted in his own mind when he had subjugated the Elder Brain and called her the Absolute, he recognized the feeling it and others of Illithid persuasion had. That buzzing of energy that radiated just under the surface. The sort of thing a god might seek to plunge its hand into and form into something new, like clay. Even here, somewhere, it seemed to fester, and where might a wound fester, Ketheric could go to stick his thumb into it and make it worse.
Eyes narrowed at the stranger that looked to him, head tilted slightly as his gaze looked him up and down. He appeared familiar, though Ketheric had only seen a visage similar shown in illuminated manuscripts and spoken about in bard song. Whatever this was, though, it made Ketheric wary and the General would not take a step down in the matter.
"I do hope you won't attempt to get inside my head." came the gruff introduction.
