It wasn’t something she liked to talk about. Often times she would ignore the fact that her mother wasn’t at home -- that she wasn’t like all the other moms of the other stupid teenagers her age that would scold their kids and ride their backs about grades and being home in time for dinner. Her mom was sick. Despite the small town, Bea was able to avoid the fact when out and about. At school no one knew where Bea spent so much of her time outside of the classroom and she would prefer to keep it like that.
There was one person from school she would see most days, however, and while at first she feared the gossip from the halls of Possum Springs High she quickly learned there was nothing to be concerned about. Angus, as she soon learned his name to be, never spoke a word. In gratitude, today she decided to bring him an offering. With two hot chocolates in her hands she had approached him after her visit with her mom and held the cup out to him.
“Here --” Play it cool Bea, try not to scare him off with that scowl of yours, “I got this for you, for being a really cool guy. So... yeah.”
