But wether byler is bones or not, the real tragedy is the absolute character assassination of Mike. They COULDVE written one of the most dynamic queer characters I’ve seen in a while. A teenage boy dealing with comp-het who had ‘love at first sight’ with a girl that MULTIPLE people though was will.
They could have had one hell of a ‘coming of age’ story but they’ve butchered it so far beyond repair with this season

I’ve seen people say that Mike should’ve taken hollys place in season 5 and I think a lot could’ve been done with that.
Vecna had connections into wills thoughts, so Vecna would SEE just how much Mike meant to Will ( and the party )
Keeps the cast relevant. It’s the final season, there should not be new main characters introduced imo.
would allow Mike to have actual emotions. Or DO something at least, helping others in the upside down, seeing his pov.
The whole ‘weak mind’ spiel from vecna could directly apply to mikes denial of self, and insecurity in relationships.

Mike wheeler is the ‘the heart’ of the group but the writers couldn’t give him any of those attributes?? Seasons 1+2 he proved himself to be so caring (especially to Will) but he hasn’t done a single thing this season except talk to his mom once?? There’s no way they’re pulling this all together in the finale
