Radar-generated images of the large asteroid that passed by Earth on January 26th were made by the Deep Space Network in California and the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico. In its closest approach at 11:19 AM EST on January 26, 2015, the big space rock estimated between 300 and 500 meters in size was about 745,000 miles (1.2 million km) from Earth. Image courtesy NASA.
