First we have the white tailed eagle, it lives and breeds in Russia among other European and Asian countries. And just look at those two headshots side by side!!

(I had to include at least one bird, and a bird of prey felt correct for Cherny)

I think we have all talked about great white shark Cherny before, right?

Leopard seal Cherny follows a similar path as great white Cherny does. Both fast hunters that are mildly (or in this case, very) terrifying.

Lastly we have Wolverine Cherny!! These guys are native to Russia too. They're faces look kind of similar (you can't see it that well here because the wolverine is facing to the side but trust me!!)

Also tell me they don't look the same, Cherny's outfit is really giving the same vibe as the wolverine's coat!!

This came into existence as I was talking to @shastrae

They suggested a marten because of the face and the playful energy, and wolverines belong to the same family (and even subfamily!!) so that's how that idea was born :D
