I use Alex everywhere, but it’s not my legal name. (too lazy to change it…) I usually save that for when we get down to brass tax. People aren’t really put off by that so… I don’t know!

I think #1 would be better, since Adrien is your preferred name and your letter of recommendation uses it primarily. :)

I’d go with #1, especially if Adrien is the name you’ll be using once you work there. You could even just write it all using Adrien and then sign your cover letter Firstname “Adrien” Lastname

Man I wish there was some kind of manual for this! I actually think signing my cover letter with both names is a great idea--I wish I'd thought of that, haha. I think I'll do that. I can't think of any reason why it'd matter a heck of a lot to them except for matching up with my school records, and my last name will be the same anyways...
