What can we spot in Noy's short appearance?

Pointy ears: Fae, Dragon, Angel.

Sharp pupils: Dragon, khaenri'ah blood or just coincidence.

Three red stars on neck: strongly associated with Asmoday.

Red and black aura: the colors look like Ronova's, Asmoday's or Arlecchino's, not like the sinners who have some pinks and purples. I'll attach screenshots later on in the post to show you what I mean.

No visible vision, moonwheel or linchpin: Fae, Dragon, angel, private case like HP, Arle, archons

His voice line: "Compared to the eons gone by, this is a peaceful age" skipping "generations" to instead use "eons", we can assume he is older than the cataclysm at bare minimum. That or he's a history geek and brought it up for no reason idk

Points 1 and 2 give us very little, so let's start at 3.

Noy does have the odd mark on his neck. Who else has anything like it? Rerir has something similar in his chest, but those are singles, each has an outline and glows slightly.

Another character who has it (more compelling in my opinion) is Albedo, though again, we only see one star on him rather than three, in a different color, and the star has a slight outline.

Nicole too has a star mark on her forehead, wrong color and only one, but it's still very much there.

People have pointed out that Noy's mark looks more like asmoday's symbol if anything. That would make it unrelated to all three of our examples, since Rerir is a sinner, Albedo was created by Rhinedottir before she merged with Naberius so sinner related too with no connection to celestia, meanwhile Nicole is pointedly related to celestia.

The best guess I've seen is that the diamond is the mark of someone who was created rather than born (true for Rerir too in that form). While Asmoday is not Naberius, she did create Melanta, Nihilita etc... so it might be that Noy was created using HER magic instead of Naberius'. Doesn't have to be made by her, but a type of space magic, moon magic perhaps...

It also begs the question: did this guy teleport? Did we see him teleport in the trailer, was that what it was? Because if so, that is space magic that he's using.

That's on that. With star marks being a bit generic, we can't narrow it down any further. Can't even conclude that he was created (not born) from just this alone!

Up next, powers, and here we start ruling things out one by one:

Why do I reject theories of him being a sinner or anything that uses abyssal energy?:

Because of his colors. His aura is only red and black, no pinks or purples. Even Rerir, whose color palette is made of reds and blacks matching Noy's, shows the pinks and purples while channeling abyssal energy:

To this extent, I'm sad to conclude Elynas also does not fit the bill (although that was my favorite theory fr) (abyssal infused)

Neither does Durin:

And we can kinda rule out Gold's involvement from this alone, because her Rhinedottir side infuses her elemental creations with abyssal energy, manifesting in purples (even human Durin who was technically raised by Anya and formed by Albedo did not avade this).

Important note: Albedo does not have the abyssal aura because he was created without any innate elemental powers at all (as any human), his control of geo comes solely from his vision. Durin meanwhile has innate abyssal powers AND a vision. Noy does not have a vision, a moon wheel, a linchpin or even a delusion on him, so whatever he's using is innate and non abyssal.

Now, let us address the dragon theories: Yes I would love that. Yes he looks like Neuvilette. Yes I am starved for dragon lore. Nothing really contradicts him being a dragon either, except that his aura is red, and we're in Snezhnaya.

With his aura, the only elemental dragon he could possibly be is pyro, but in Snezhnaya? More likely he'd be a humanized non-elemental dragon like Elynas, but we've ruled that out.

Next, Angel theories: Strong contender. An angel who served the shades could bare Asmoday's mark, but I do have counter points... firstly (weak argument) we only ever heard of feminine angels thus far. Secondly (another weak argument) this guy doesn't seem particularly friendly though angels supposedly are, instinctually. Thirdly (another weak one, sorry) We don't see the mark on Zibai, so who's to say if it's circumstancial. Fourth (slightly stronger argument) this guy speaks in his trailer (his mouth moves, yes I checked), so he'd need a Zibai-tier excuse for not being a Seelie. Final argument (strongest one imo) is that his aura (again with that, yes) does NOT look like an angel's. We already have an example of a pyro angel, and her magic looks nothing like his:

Moving on to Fae theories!! Most of what we know comes from beloved Flins character story 3, as follows:

" While Kyryll did not stay at court for long, he was present for the transition of power from the Belyi Tsar to the Tsaritsa (happened during the cataclysm)..." "He (Flins) once was a member of the royal court, but never had any followers of his own. Gradually, the flames of Snezhnaya were completely replaced by red ones, and the regions that once enshrined blue flames also fell one by one. People eventually accepted the red flames burning across the icy plains, just as they accepted the new regime."

This, along with Noy's ears and red magic with no visible source, led most of the fandom to assume he is one such "red flame", a lantern Fae like Flins that burns red instead of blue.

I don't doubt it. In fact, I'm sure this is exactly correct, however, it doesn't explain the mark on his neck, or where red flame fae even came from.

What we do know: "The fae were created by the artisans of hyperborea using "forbidden methods" that were taught to them by Koitar. Created and made purely of frostmoon's light, all forged upon bones of "giant beasts.""

So there exists a technique for creating fae, which is forbidden and needs moon power. Some angels know how to do it... Got it.

!!By the way, this cannot be all Fae. Some like Linnea we know for sure have parents, so I wouldn't check her for any marks of being created rather than born.

Back to our topic- Who could be involved in such a thing? Who could create a new type of lantern fae? And who could pass those on to serve the Tsaritsa once she inherited the throne aka after the cataclysm?

Ah. Khaenri'ah.

Well, we did see Tsaritsa's son had the eyes for it, we can only deduce she's connected to khaenri'ah too. Her father the Balyi Tsar perished during the Cataclysm, she inherited the throne and then red fae suddenly appeared to serve under her. 1+1=2.

What more? Ah yes, Arlecchino. Let's talk about Arlecchino.

That is much closer to his color palette, isn't it? How nice. Let's try and recall some of HER lore, now.

We know Arlecchino is a descendant of Khaenri'ah's Crimson Moon Dynasty, using Balemoon Bloodfire magic. To her, this is not only a strength but also a curse that slowly paralyzes her the more she draws on that power. This power supposedly comes from the crimson moon, rather than the frost moon.

Pierro (mage of khaenri'ah, mind you) was the one who told Arlecchino to read "the legend of Perinheri", and remarked that The House of the Hearth was now "once again" led by an orphan from the Crimson Moon bloodline.

As for what that book says, most of it is not really relevant but there are some interesting points. I read through it, at first it mentions that the first house of hearth was created in khaenri'ah (another big thing that passed from them to the hands of the Tsaritsa after the cataclysm, then?) during the crimson moon dynasty in hopes of finding children who can transcend the gods, testing their connection to the blood moon. After that it moves on to a story about one such child named Perinheri, and how those who betray their gods are cursed while he, an outlander, is free. What this part does give us is an estimated time: during the archon war.

Note 2 of the book also says "Alchemy and the Beastmaster Knights were a mainstay during the crimson moon dynasty." In contrast with the eclypse dynasty which turned towards mechanical creations. That means that, if there was a time for khaenri'ah to create fae, it was during the crimson moon dynasty.

I'd like to point out at this stage that while Noy has Asmoday's mark, which Arlecchino has too on her collar, Arlecchino also has far more symbolism resembling Ronova with all the eyes. The methods mentioned in the book also appear to try and call on Ronova's power ("are you dead?" And seeing an eye in the sky), but we know that the crimson moon is actually Sonnet, which is why Arlecchino inherited her. What I'm thinking is that while the Crimson Dynasty tried to draw from the power of the crimson moon using "Asmoday's" space magic, they accidentally used Ronova's, then the moon the children saw was no moon at all, and the powers they drew ended up corrupting and killing them, like they do Arlecchino.

Imagine this: At the start of the archon war khaenri'ah wished very much to stay independant. They attempted to create many great weapons using many techniques, some of which required one-of-a-kind resources, or were forbidden. Using the power found in one of celestia's nails (sent dowm by Asmoday, perhaps the chasm nail), a lantern fae was created under the crimson moon's light instead of the frost moon, burning red rather than blue.

On his neck, the new Fae bore the mark of a being created using the power of space. Said Fae might be one of a kind, but the kingdom wishes to replicate beings in their image to transcend the gods. He himself does not know much of it, but he they put him in charge of an orphanage. To the best of the kingdom's understanding, children are checked for blood moon affinity... special ceremonies are held, trying to teach them the same type of magic the Fae uses. Some succeed, and are treated as royalty.

A new dynasty arrives. The new king sees the strength of the children as a threat, preferring to build machinary using "secrets from beyond the skies" (abyss rather than moon). He orders them all killed, and the red flame has no choice but to escape to Snezhnaya where other Fae await him, and where the princess is known to accept khaenri'ahns. Imagine he takes the prime of the house of the hearth with him.

The cataclysm occurs. Home is gone, the Tsaritsa's father is gone, but she still wants to overthrow the gods. She urges the red fae to continue enriching the youth.

He, unlike Flins, HAD followers. So many and more still as he runs the hearth, that his red flames overtake the blue. The administration of the house of Hearth is passed to the Fatui while he manages some affairs for his new master, the Tsaritsa.

Maybe he gets sick of it, maybe he loses hope and goes underground after a decade, maybe he realizes the power he infused in those kids was Ronova's and loses his resolve. Maybe the Tsaritsa reassigns him to better utilise his power: others can train promising youth while he works on more specialized projects. Maybe they abandon the plan of drawing powers from celestia, he entrusts the task of drawing moon power to Dottore and moves on to other things. Maybe he's the 10th Harbinger, one who isn't publically known since the Tsaritsa dispatches him like a private assassin. There are many options, but this is my theory.
