“Hmm… that’s better than nothing. I’d take them..” Jed answered back. He dug deeper into his drawer and found a single pen. The ink was about half left, but like Kate thought. This new no time to be picky. “I found a pen over here..” He tucks the pen into one of the many pockets that’s hosted on his outfit.
He laughed along with her. “Hell, if you did I would know it’s you and I’d laughed because I’d just remember us sneaking in here… The other survivors would probably think I’m sick or something..” His laugher also made him smile. Good memories were hard to make, but with Kate around it seemed like a easy task. He loves having her around; she seemed to literally light up every room she walked through or in. When her hand met his back, going into a patting motion he immediately relaxed in the touch. A simple gesture, yet it felt so intimate and comforting to him; a feeling he hasn’t felt in forever.
“Oh yeah.. those flash bangs can be pretty annoying. But between you and me? I prefer them over flashlights. At least the flash bangs are single use and easier to evade… at least for me. I can’t seem to dodge a flashlight for the light of me..”
He chuckles once more while looking at her. Perhaps he shouldn’t have spoke of this information but he didn’t even think about it or had it cross his mind. He was truly just speaking and fueling the conversation; not realizing that the information could be used against him.
"Well, I'll keep that in mind just in case I should run into ya," she replied, clearly joking. Though that most likely would not happen -- Kate usually either used a med kit or a toolbox. While he was horrible at dodging the light, she was equally as bad at aiming it.
Besides, snacks could be stored easier in either if those, whereas the only thing she could really do with the flashlight was throw it at the killer's head. That had happened several times in the past. So often that Kate gifted any flashlights to her teammates instead of keeping them for herself.
"Wanna see if we can keep pushing our luck and find another station or set of desks? Or head back before anything notices we're in a place we're not supposed to be?"
