Daisy@Lenox: "Goodness a mercenary group? I understand information can be rather important in this business. Has there ever been a case where someone you were close to wasn't completely who they claimed to be? I apologize if I'm being vague. Its rather hard to call it dishonesty if its part of one's job to be on a need to know basis so my choice for words appears to be limited."
Lenox shook her head at the scizor’s apology. “No no. I get you. But yeah I’ve dealt with people who were not ho they claimed to be. Once we had a client who asked us to protect him because a bounty was put on his head. The kicker is that he put the bounty on himself. He did this so he could lure out two assassins from out of hiding and have us kill them. We didn’t even wind up killing them, the client did. He hired us to be meat shields or to protect him in case things went out of hand.”
This question got her to thinking on some people in her life. “I will be honest though. I actually work with people who are like that.” The people that immediately came to mind were Freddy and Gwen, especially the latter. “My boss makes me really suspicious. He told me about his time as gang member and how he met Haines but there is this middle gap that he never seems to talk about.”
“But the mon I work with that has me the most suspicious is Gwen, our markmen. She has mentioned that she has been to prison, but various parts of her past whenever any of us have asked her always come up different, or with radically different details. One version of her story having her family killed by her after they tried to murder her. The version she told me was that her parents were abusive drunks and killed them after years of abuse. But she just put out a version that invovled her family being assassins. She just has never told the complete truth. It’s like she has a multi choice origin story, except with some reoccurring details. She killed her parents, went to prison, and met Floyd. That’s it.”
