What happens if Moswen meets Evan's mom? (Sorry I forget her name.)
You know what's really messed up about this? Sofia would like Moswen. Not because Moswen's a good person (because we know damn well that ain't true) but because she's really good at pretending she is. She would fool Sofia, just like she fooled everyone else.
Moswen put on a kind, caring facade around the public. The people of Uekoro loved her and thought of her as a benevolent down-to-earth queen because she personally visited sick citizens in the hospital, made a show of giving money to the poor, and gave a lot of speeches about the importance of kindness and humanity in Uekoro's culture.
Moswen was a woman who cared about her appearance more than anything. She was desperate to appear beautiful inside and out, perhaps because she knew how ugly her soul really was. The only people who knew her true nastiness were her slaves and her children. They were the most defenseless victims in her life, the only ones who couldn't fight back, so they received the brunt of her hideous cruelty.
Sofia is nothing like Moswen. She is a genuinely kind and caring person, she doesn't have to pretend. Yes she's bigoted and ignorant about the world, but that's the fault of her Evangelite culture, it's not the condition of her soul. She wouldn't feel that way if she just got a better education; unfortunately she did not have that privilege.
Sofia would be charmed by Moswen's fake, angelic personality. She would see her as an inspirational woman and probably never realize how horrible she really was. Meanwhile I think Moswen would feel jealous/threatened by Sofia's genuineness. It would really chap her ass that Sofia can be so pleasant without even trying, and she would secretly hate her for it.
