(Ignore this question if its not allowed) could someone have sex with a fire nymph? What about an ice nymph? Like would it be possible to even hug them or does touching them = death?
Don't worry, these are totally legit questions! Unfortunately the answer isn't a simple yes or no. Let me explain...
So, it's true that pyriads are very hot to the touch. Conversely, isanae are very cold. As in, touching them can potentially cause burns and frostbite respectively.
However, not all species will be affected by this the same way. Humans are particularly squishy and have smooth, thin skin compared to many other peoples, so they probably couldn't touch these nymphs without some kind of protective gear. But ogres, for example, have tough leathery skin that can resist extreme temperatures better. Magic can also be used to counter the nymphs' flame and freeze effects.
Red elves are naturally fireproof. Even standing in a campfire would do nothing to them, so they could safely touch a pyriad. They're still susceptible to frostbite though, so they'd have to watch themselves around isanae.
Also worth mentioning, both pyriads and isanae can adjust their own temperatures to an extent. Pyriads can lower their internal temperature quite a bit--still uncomfortable for a human to touch, but won't result in a burn right away. Isanae can do the opposite by raising theirs. Neither of them should remain at these temperatures for too long though.
Likewise, pyriads can temporarily spike their temperatures super high, so anything that touches them will burst into flame. They typically do this as a defense mechanism, and Isanae can do the same except anything that touches them will turn to ice.
TL;DR: humans generally can't touch these nymphs without getting burned or frozen, but many other species can, either by way of natural temperature resistance or magic spells.
So I would say if you're a human looking to pursue a sexual relationship with one of these nymphs, well...your best bet is to put on some protective gear and get creative. Forget lingerie--bust out the welding mask and fire-retardant gloves!
