Matt vanished during a routine mission up in space; basically they think he’s dead, but won’t say it out loud and instead he’s MIA. Katie, in her grief, mourns for a few years- she gets her schoolwork done, does her chores, numbs herself to the outside world. (I didn’t intend this, but I’ve been playing that save for long enough that Mama&Papa Holt passed, so that’s canon in this universe too!) After that she gets lonely enough that she decides to do something about it. She compiles resources, starts bit by bit trying to design a body that doesn’t crumple in on itself or need outside/extra support to be able to stand and move. It takes months, and by the time she’s satisfied, she starts up work on his AI. Programs him to be everything she remembered him by- his kindness, his dumb comedy, his passion- his faithfulness to her.

We talk a lot, I suppose! The majority of our members are content creators, so that helps as well. Communities start as small groups, after all. The current “purity culture” on tumblr certainly doesn’t help right now with community building, since most people are scared of being called out for shipping “sinful” or “wrong” things like incest ships. I guess I wanted a place to help support other people making content for the things I also wanted to read.

So, there’s no real reason why I needed to make a network, other than the fact that outside of tumblr, a lot of people actively consume holtcest content. (<– links to the works listed below; warning for explicit content and sibling incest.)

Those are my most popular fics by hits, and there’s some clear interest that people have in fics like that. So, there’s much more support on other sites like AO3 then there are on tumblr. And if I can reach people who might feel like they don’t have a place in fandom because they ship holtcest, then I want to offer it to them. (Although we don’t accept minors; this is mostly due to my own policy of not interacting with fandom minors because I don’t want to be responsible for a young teen’s content consumption.)
