(fellow splat oc enthusiast here, points at my own girls hehe)

OK! YAY!

this is raimu san-nakji (name is literally just lime, surname is an octopus dish!) she was 8 (hachi madako)'s best friend in the domes. they knew eachother since they were kids and even joined the same unit (surimi combat unit, i can talk abt them too in another post..)

their parents were unit buddies too which is why they knew eachother since forever!!! the other girls in the unit didn't really like hachi but they mostly left her alone because they respected raimu. anyways, when hachi eventually left the domes (tried and failed to convince raimu to come with) raimu completely focused on soldier stuff to cope. i like to think that when acht got kidnapped by kamabo co. and sanitized they weren't the only one they took, basically everyone who was at the club that night ended up in the metro

raimu was at the club that night, she was sanitized, her body kept fighting off the inkfection (funny pun haha) even long after she was fully sanitized, leading to moments of lucidity that just made her really hostile

flash forward to the metro, 8 finds the octoling memcake and remembers all about her very best friend. then she meets her, during one of these moments of lucidity, and raimu just dies. permanently, the body's too damaged to respawn. this happens often if a body doesn't take well to sanitization

she's not doing too hot mentally (always had a problem with small tiny hallucinations but the constant stress in the metro coupled with the exposure to sanitized ink local vegetation pressure changes and bad diet made them a lot worse) so she just drags the corpse back to the main station, where she confirms that it is raimu, and she is dead

she ends up burying her under the train tracks, which is the best funeral she can give without access to the sea (octarian funerals involve sending the body back to the sea where it belongs, where it dissolves cuz it's made of ink lol)

not reaaaallyyyyyyy she picks weapons based on the Situation. well she wasn't immediately good at everything obviously.. took her a while to learn how to use chargers and splatlings but marie trained her so she's not getting out that easy!!!

also working for grizzco means she has to use Every weapon always!

for what it's worth she likes faster weapons more than slower ones (inkbrush over octobrush for example) but she can and will deal with anything
