I've been honestly trying to lesrn to draw people. But everytime I try out a course they just draw the face and features and be like "now do this" like I wouldn't be watching you if I couldπ. So I wanted to ask how did you learn? Do you make the box or lines and then draw everything slowly into it?
For me I had figure drawing classes in university . What they taught me was the traditional way of drawing every thing as a stick figure -> then cylinders and circles and getting all the basic proportions realistically as shapes and drawing each part of the body (eyes, head, female / male anatomy )π which is useful to like understand the human form and draw poses.
I still use the cylinder and circle method to get an idea of the pose tho until now . Constantly practicing the basics was boring for me π I actually study by drawing cosplay photos I like / of my friends cosplay shoots and give it to them . Itβs good for understanding composition (you break down the entire photo into shapes ) too plus it made them happy.
Using references helps too ! I rely on pose dolls when I was studying and practicing . Until now i take photos of myself as references If I cant get the angle of what I need to draw . If something looks off flip the canvas or if youβre drawing traditionally shove it at a light to see what looks off .
Its honestly a reallllyyy long drawing process it took me years to get the hang of π
