In some ways I suspect it could have made it easier. The hardest fusions were that of fully developed and well elaborated alters, but we had plenty of fragments and alters that were near carbon copies of eachother with little variations

some of these varied alters were subsystems, and they fused into one

some groups jumped from one subsystem to another to fuse there instead surprisingly!

As long as you are processing the traumas, agreeing fusion is a set system goal overall, and taking the time to do things properly (i.e. don't rush this process just to get it over with- you'll just end up burying traumatic emotions instead of truly processing them), I don't see why it wouldnt be possible to final fuse given enough time.

Focus more on the journey of processing trauma and trauma themes rather than the fusing- treat the source of the problem, not the symptom (.. forgive the odd wording here, alters aren't "problems" but I hope you understand what I mean here)

as we continued trauma processing, we noticed a lot of events we hadn't processed weren't bothering us anymore, due to traumas with similar themes being dealt with. if I could deal with the ostracization and ridicule I suffered at age 4, I suddenly also knew how to let the bullying at age 12 lay to rest too.

if you have more trauma themes, or are not as easily able to link traumatic events together into groups (ex. these traumas made me feel powerless. these other traumas made me feel like I'd never be worth anything, etc.) you may need to take a longer time with this, but it is possible

many polyfrag systems also have the goal of fusing down to a smaller size and reevaluating how they feel- if you get to 4, 10, 20 alters and feel like it's manageable for your life, you can work towards functional multiplicity. the night before stem and leafy final fused, they had considered not focusing on fusion and just letting themselves be two (which was apparently he processing they needed to do to finally be able to fuse XD )

I’m currently using a Wacom Cintiq 13HD which at the moment retails for almost $800. Keep in mind I’ve been using a wide variety of tablets for almost 8 years! If you’re just starting there’s really no reason to buy a piece of hardware that large or expensive just yet. The tablet that I bought when I first started drawing digitally was a Wacom bamboo fun (which is unfortunately discontinued) but their Small Intuos Creative Pen Tablet is basically the same size (it retails for around $75). Wacom tends to be extremely pricey but in my experience their drivers have always worked the best for me in terms of pressure sensitivity and program compatibility. There are alternatives, but the only other brand I’ve used is Huion and in my experience they just don’t work right whenever I’m working in Paint Tool Sai. As far as my computer goes, its actually one I built myself and it runs windows 10.
