I just started playing Fields of Mistria when it released into 1.0 and it’s been so good so far! I’m glad I can start seeing all the fanart on Tumblr too. Anyway, wanted to ask, do you have any tips or suggestions for new players?
my ONE tip is: take advantage of the crops via food and crafting (if ur the type to enjoy tons of money... like me)
when you get a crop for the first time, donate one, and sell only one. the next day, you will get a recipe for that food item. if it's a one ingredient dish, you need to abuse the hell out of it (AND GET THE LESS TIME TO COOK PERK W THE MAGIC ORBS)
if your recipe requires a lot of ingredients to make, then the other best way to get money is by making signs out of the crops. in the general store, there's a crop sign recipe and it requires wood and the crop. it's worth a lot of money and it helps in a pinch, altho the recipes themselves are a bit expensive, they're worth invensting in (ive yet to buy them in my recent save tho since i rely a lot on cooking!!)
----- and since i do rely a lot on cooking, i take the higher star recipes to my advantage. literally hoarding crops is the best way to earn money in the long run, what i do personally is TOMATO SOUP.
step 1. this is assuming ive got the keep ingredients when cooking perk, the seeds drop when you water a crop perk, a barn with a cow, and a seed maker, you have the tomato soup recipe (gotten from selling 1 tomato), the time to cook is reduced perk, and it's summer. PLANT AS MANY TOMATOES AS POSSIBLE. step 2. get basil, look for as many as possible, THEN ABUSE THE HELL OUT OF THE SEED MAKER AND MAKE TONS OF BASIL PLANTS
step 3. do not use any of your cows' milk unless you have to.
step 4. by the end of the month, you wouldve had more tomatoes and basil than when you started, because you kept generating new ones thanks to the free seeds perk. at that point your cow has also made a lot of milk. YOU COOK IT ALL AT ONCE... YOU COOK MORE BECAUSE YOU GET EXTRA INGREDIENTS... AND THEN... MONEY.
also this is the speedrunner/minmaxxer in me speaking, but come summer, GET AS MANY COCONUTS FROM THE BEACH AS POSSIBLE!!! sell one coconut to get the coconut milk recipe... PLUS THE PERK WHERE THERES A CHANCE YOU'LL KEEP AN INGREDIENT FROM COOKING... then sell and enjoy your DOUGH
