I was pretty exhausted last night so let me rephrase: I hope Lena broke her fucking hand on Kara’s face.

Now, we don’t have a lot of context since it’s literally a 5 second scene in a trailer for an entire season. Could it be a number of things? Yes, for sure. Is it possible that it’s some VR thing like some people are saying? Yup. Is it possible that it’s actually Lena Luthor punching Supergirl in the face while saying her name in a public space where anyone could hear her? yes it is and I’m sorry to say that I honestly am not sure which answer is hands-down the right one. If this was Lena a couple seasons back (before her character was seemingly stunted) then I would say that it 100% was a simulation/dream/VR thing and not at all something that actually happens.

Okay, so you’ve got this thing about yourself that you don’t share with anyone (mainly because you were told for most of your cognitive life that you should keep it to yourself to keep your family safe and watched as the one time someone found out about Your Thing resulted in your paternal adult being taken away from you and the rest of your family in order to keep you safe [that’s something else that I have A Lot of Thoughts About but that’s for another ask]) and you later find out that it’s because, honestly, people fkn suck (because we do we’re pretty shitty when we don’t understand things that are different) and you’re a part of a minority group on Earth who are harassed and kidnapped and tested on and beaten and killed (and sometimes, with a certain piece of shit, you get all of the fucking above). 

You meet this person who becomes your best friend and the connection is undoubtedly one very close to (if it doesn’t surpass and I can debate that at a later date too just let me know) the one you have with the woman you finished growing up with and yeah, you’re super close and you obviously love each other in whichever way you do but this friend hasn’t exactly been as vocal about supporting the minority group you’re a part of as you would feel comfortable with and so you kinda put off telling them. Then it turns out that you’re trying to protect this person from any harm (because let’s face it: watching your father-person get carted off because someone found out about you is gonna leave a mark, particularly when you also had to watch the other two people in that family handle it all) and then it’s late and you’re scared and there never seems to be a good time to just say it.

But then your friend finds out. And sees you in public. And decides to walk up to you and then punch you in the fucking face like???? Would you stand up and be like, ‘okay, you know, that’s cool we can move on now’?

The fact that Lena is talking about making Supergirl hurt (and blah blah gross toxic hurt that isn’t being processed properly because she was raised by the Luthors and doesn’t know how to process things properly but won’t actually help to better herself by looking into ways to properly process) is ridiculous. Kara has gone through so much and was trying to stop it from happening again, not to mention that she does not owe her identity to a n y o n e. 

TL;DR: I hope Lena broke her fucking hand punching Kara, Kara has already suffered since forever, and I am still 100000% behind the whole Kara Does Not Owe Anyone Her Identity claim.

PS: I still love fanon!Lena and the growth she’s going through in a lot of fanfic out there, y’all are deities my goodness.

2. Are there any popular fandom OTPs that you only BroTP?

The really cool/funny/relatable/interesting part of Supergirl and the Super Friends is that, fandom-written, they all would work really well together (within their sexual preference of course) because of how comfortable they all are together. I love most of the pairings as both BroTP and OTP so this is a really difficult thing to answer.

12. Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

Okay, so most of my fandom interaction has been within the SC part and then I moved away from a lot of the fandom in general because really can y’all demons lighten the fk up please anyway. 

I think a lot of people really disliked the Ben Lockwood back story arc that we got this past season, but I really truly loved it. You get to see a man go from “what the hell are you saying they’re living beings just like us shut up” to “KILL” and sure it’s all man-pain fueled but it’s not just “I lost my wife and so now every alien has to pay” it’s a slow progression and I found it very interesting to watch this boring, ordinary character take the steps away from something he didn’t realize he was leaving behind (and in the end, find out that he was being played the entire time). I am not at ALL condoning his actions or saying that I like his character, but the fact that we got a backstory episode for one of the minor-bads of the season was really cool for me.

20. What is the purest ship in the fandom?

I answered this one but I wanna add: Kara + happiness, and Kara + therapy, and Kara + food

Honestly, I feel like I love every unpopular character. Except Morgan Edge. Fuck that guy.

tbqfh the only fandom that’s ruined a pairing for me is the SC fandom for pretty much anything because they’re all fkn demons but yeah I used to love Kara with Lena and it was fun and everyone was having a great time and now it’s just like, 98% of the fandom is just like ‘LENA IS A PRECIOUS BEAN WHO HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG EVER IN HER LIFE AND WE LOVE HER’ like??? people fuck up y’all, and when it’s an actual human being you’re all over them and ‘cancelling’ them, but a fictional character? AND A MINOR ONE AT THAT ARE YOU KIDDING ME

I’m going with Supergirl since I assume that’s what the assumption would be. That said, I don’t follow a lot of accounts that hate on characters so I’m not 100% sure who people hate anymore (thank fuck for that because that shit was greying me the fuck up honestly). That said...

People hate James???? Suddenly??? The only thing I hate for James is the lackluster attempts to make him interesting and relevant like they could fkn try harder and actually have him??? be an active??? friend to Kara??? again??? like they fuckin grew up???? let them be close again????
