man you have no idea how surprised i was to see an ask that wasn't spam 😭 my work in progress is called lamb of god (but i usually just call it wip), i've been brainstorming and writing since january of last year. this year im working on a draft v1.1 as it were, reworking things in a better way from a revised foundation.

as far as the actual plot though! ⬇️

Every few hundred years, a vicious calamity rips through the world, and a child blessed by God— the Lamb— is born to stop it. The Lamb, accompanied by two holy servants, the Hand of God and the Sage, must travel across the land to each of seven shrines to receive God's blessings. After the final blessing, the Lamb will ascend to Sainthood and become the Voice of God, head of church and only one to hear and convey the Lord Mother's guidance.

Twenty years ago, a Lamb set out on his pilgrimage, and for the first time in history, was killed before he could complete it. The calamity he was meant to avert, a deepening cold, only grew worse in his absence. The Eighth Saint has barely kept it at bay ever since, but Her Holiness's power is waning. A new Lamb, Aneska, is born, and at only thirteen, she must leave for her pilgrimage.

Penance Morningstar, a priest crushed under the guilt of a past mortal sin, is suddenly thrust into the role of guardian to the child Lamb and must grapple with unworthiness and absolution. Accompanying them is the chosen Sage, a misanthropic sorcerer named Crow who will teach the girl all she must know to perform miracles of magic. But living in the shadow of the failed pilgrimage will prove harrowing, and devils are appearing en masse like never before seen— it will take everything the three have to save a dying world.

i'm really happy people loved it while i was making it, even if i cringe out of my skin at seeing most of my old art LOL and i don't intend to continue it unfortunately, as i wound up too busy and with my mind on other things. and maybe at some point i'll do a full synopsis of what i had in mind! in the meantime though, i did very recently do a full lineup of all the party members redrawn in my current style!

including two members we didn't meet in-comic, oliver and lazuli! and i can tell you that the full nuzlocke had two deaths: tiv and kairos. i went into the elite four and beat the game with five members because i couldn't bear to replace kairos (the second death). funnily enough (and dramatically), they were both taken out by the SAME pokemon in two different battles: giovanni's kangaskhan. it was a whole thing in my plot outline

the comic was supposed to end with makoto, elli, gary, and belle going to the cave to confront mewtwo, who had a very personal grudge against makoto but was ultimately a sad and scared kid alone in the world, with makoto as their foil in a way

makoto and gary grow and mature a lot throughout the story, both ending at about ~17-18 and dating. isaac adopts two children, who were meant to be the protagonists of a sequel story (LOL, very optimistic of me to think i'd get so far). oliver and lazuli also begin tentatively dating after a lot of silly pining and move to sinnoh together, where oliver becomes part of volkner's team and laz becomes a famous fashion designer who outfits league challengers with protective gear. eve works with the league to dissolve any remaining factions of rocket and learns to live a little and relax; she and isaac are close and she's the godmother of his kids. elli retires completely from battling and becomes a teacher alongside belle, who stays with gary's champion team as they keep their title by fighting in the league.

I saw in the final drawing you did and the picture you took that Mango appears to have a cream colored head.

Is that a gradient to the white feathers or is it more like 2 distinct sections?

Is this a more unique coloring or is the 'standard' hen that we often see caricatured as solid white simply just reductive?

no problem! mango's head is sort of a subtle cream gradient to white, tho when you have chickens that are free range all day it's hard to call them "white" anymore when they love rolling around in dirt and such LOL oddly enough, both mango and peaches are almost entirely white with no distinct markings on them. there are absolutely breeds of chickens like this, but for their specific breed, amberlink, which typically look like this,

they're all still doing great! it's right around the time of their first molt and oscar has started first, she's still acting normal but dropping feathers like crazy LOL
