SO BEGINS THE NEWEST ADVENTURE IN A YOUNG URCHINS’ LIFE

Hi folks, Crayon-Mod here. Happy new year!

Things have been very quiet for a long time, and I think that means this blog isn’t going to update again. 

I’ve run this blog for 8 years now, and I’ve grown a lot as an artist and person. This single blog allowed me to meet incredible people, experience huge life lessons and events, and for all the highs and lows I will never ever regret running this blog.

Exploring this little character and his life has been one of the best lessons in creating something I’ve ever had, and I have absolutely ADORED it. Crayon is one of my all-time favourite characters and lives on as a human character on my mod blog. I love him, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop drawing him

Unfortunately, though, I’m just not interested in ponies anymore and haven’t been for years. It was a great fandom, and I still love an awful lot about it, but the chapter on this book is finally closed.

Thank you for all your support over the years. No matter what, you viewers are delights, and have made my teenage and young adult years utterly wonderful. Thank you so, so very much.

HOWEVER The game still isn’t over!!!

Urchin Quest is my most recent long term project!

A completely original brand new story, with a few newly transferred familiar faces and a totally new feel! Updates are queued every Wednesday and Sunday at 10pmGMT, and tell the story of a group of streek kids in Melding City, fighting for survival and having huge adventures!

If you enjoyed AskCrayon, I think you’re really going to love this. I’ve had this story and characters for a very long time, and it’s finally time to share them with all of you. The first 3 pages are already up

See, I do still want to continue his story. The problem is, I really don’t like the format and current artstyle for a few reasons. I think it looks really bland, I don’t like the backgrounds fully coloured at all. I think the style itself doesn’t allow for very good expressions and the biggest issue is it takes FOR.EV.ER. to make the updates.

But also, I’m getting to a point where my personal projects need to also show off to potential employers my skillsets, or at least let me keep improving at said skill sets. Right now, I don’t want to show those comics to anyone who doesn’t already know Crayons full story, and I doubt an employer wants to read up on four years of sad horse in bland artstyle

SO HERE IS MY IDEA

Not only a way simpler artsyle with no colours, BUT a way of actually getting MORE story with each update. I’m thinking of making fully voice acted storyboard animatics!

I’ve realised an issue with my comics going so slow is because I write like screenplays, not comics, and the pacing of each is very different. Storyboarding is something I really want to get into, and this way I feel I can give way more life to the characters!

I’m also debaaaaaaaating making it humans? I’m not sure, I do like ponies and really need to catch up, but I think I’ll be drawings humans much more, plus it’s good practice and much easier facially
