I don’t usually do open letters, but I figured this one's important. You all have been showing up—leaving kind words, sending questions, making this corner of the internet feel like something real. So you deserve to know what’s going on, even if it’s just a pause.

Redacted—my right hand, my partner, my person—is taking a step back for a bit. She got some tough news at the hospital recently. The kind that makes you drop everything and focus in. So that’s what we’re doing. Focusing in. Slowing down. Breathing through it.

Don’t worry, she’s still here. Still got her fire. But for now, we’re switching off the noise, just for a little while. Might be radio silence on this page. Might not be any new posts or cheeky answers or banter for a stretch. That doesn’t mean we’re gone.

It just means we’re doing what we gotta do: taking care. Being gentle. Making space to feel whatever comes up.

I know some of you came here for the jokes or the flirting or the way Red plays around in my voice, and hey—that’ll come back. She’s a hell of a spark. You’ll see it again soon enough.

But for now, if you’ve got a kind word to spare, or just wanna send quiet support into the void, we’ll take it. And if you don’t hear anything back for a while, just know we’re still here. Still holding on. Still walking forward, even if it’s a little slower.

I'm wondering how mafia Bucky would react when he told you not to do something cause he's worried you'll get hurt but of course you do said stupid thing and get hurt but try to hide it

Bucky's forehead was wrinkled as he pinched the bridge of his nose as he let out and exasperated sigh.

" . . . So lemme get this straight, Sweets.I told you that wearing those shoes on the ice would be a bad idea."

"Mhm."

"Because you can't walk in heels like that on a CLEAR day."

"Yeah."

"Suggested wearing them once you'd broken them in around the house a bit."

"Solid suggestion, by the way."

"AND pointed out three other pairs that would have gone just as well with your outfit."

"Four, actually."

"Then you wore the shoes anyway, immediately. fell on the stairs, and are now bruised so badly that it looks like you're in my line of work?"

" . . . Yeah. Yeah that about sums it up." You looked at him matter of factly and completely unfazed by the King of the Underground staring down at you.

Bucky sighed again, but couldn't stop a smile from creeping onto his face. He had killed people, tortured people, ruled more than half the underground, and had a reputation as one of the most dangerous men in New York, yet he couldn't talk you out of something you'd set your mind to. You were stubborn to a fault, absolutely unafraid of him, and probably a little scarier than he was in certain circumstances.

"Please be more careful? And listen to me next time. I'm right about some things, y'know. C'mon, let's get you cleaned up."

Winnie: The worlds greatest aunt and uncle? Can I have that on a badge or a t-shirt or something? Oh my gosh, Bucky, let’s get that on matching t-shirts!

Bucky: We’ll think about that…

Winnie: Oh, I know that face. That’s a no from you.

Bucky: Ah, not the pout. I can’t say no to you when you pout.

Winnie: Yes, knew that would work. I’ll go check that really cute website later on, so we can order a shirt with that.

Bucky: Leo warned me for that face, just like your dad did and all your uncles.

Winnie: Anyways, we—the worlds greatest aunt and uncle—are doing great. This weekend we’re gonna pick up our puppy!

Bucky: Yes, the puppy is adorable. I don't want to tell you his name, because it's kinda embarrassing...

Winnie: It's not embarrassing. It's amazing! We’re gonna name him mister Sheffield. You know, from the Nanny, because the puppy is all black, with a little white/silver streak of hair on his head.

Bucky: I really couldn’t get out of that one

Winnie: You wanted to name him Freckle, I saved the little one from an atrocious name

Bucky: Anyways, we’re very happy to get a little puppy. The pound said they found him in an alley, all by himself and alone. They have been feeding him regularly, taking good care of him and now he is eight weeks, so we can pick him up.

Winnie: I can’t wait to become a dog mom to Mister Sheffield.

Bucky: And I can’t wait to become a dog dad to... To Mister Sheffield

Winnie: Want to get that on a t-shirt as well? Yes, yes, you do. I’ll go to that site right now to order it!
