Hi! In the rules you posted, you list that “All works must be made available publicy for the prompter to receive/check.”
Does this include AO3 fics cannot be locked? Of course, if the prompter doesn’t have an AO3 account that’s a given, but even if the prompter has an account?
Thanks!
Hello! If the prompter has an account, you are allowed to lock your fics on AO3! We'll be adding a field on the Prompt Request form for any prompters who also wish to give their AO3 username to allow creators to set the fic as a gift if they want to.
Hope this clears it out!
Hi! Would you consider allowing an exception to your requirement of having a phm piece in your portfolio in the case of an artist using a non-traditional medium? For example: an embroidery artist. Often these mediums are very labor intensive, time consuming, and expensive, and it is unrealistic to assume that non-traditional artists (particularly those participating in other non-phm zines) have had the time or resources to create a phm piece prior to this project.
Yes that's fine!
Hi! Super excited for the zine, but I'm totally confused! I'm in the server you posted, and it seems like you don't know what's going to happen in the zine itself? Like, you say it's explicitly ROMANTIC grocky, but then say we can draw or write non-romance? Is it romance or not? Because I feel like that needs to be on your website page. Also, I did see that AUs are allowed, which is very neat, but does that mean ANY AUs as long as grocky is the focus? If that's the case, I think it should also be explicitly stated to warn people (like me) who don't care for crossovers/original characters that the zine may contain crossovers - which takes away from this PHM/Grocky zine in my personal opinion. I don't know. I love this idea and everything, but the vagueness of it all is making me really concerned about where my money is going. Thanks!
Hello! The focus is romantic Grocky only, what we say about drawing/writing non romance is for application submissions, which is required to showcase only 1 PHM piece per writer or artist. There is no central theme for this zine, so AUs are allowed but not expected. Currently about half the mod team was knocked out right at the start by being sick so we're still recovering, and one mod had to unexpectedly drop out, so we're reopening mod applications for the moment to fill that space, so we're slowing down slightly on the behind the scenes process, which we are still working towards. There will be a meeting held this week with all the mods and admins to discuss the final details, schedule, and charity options, which we will be revealing as soon as they are all decided.
The reason the zine might seem vague is because there isn't going to be a focus on what kind of setting Grocky is put in, as long as it's Grocky. We deliberately did not put a cap on what content we will be showing so that every person has an opportunity to show what they want to create.

Hi! Is it possible to apply to the zine as an unamed participant (will share my public accounts in the application but would prefer not to share it outside the zine). Since I see people getting harrassed over this ship and I just worry about it. 🥹 I totally understand if that's not possible. Thank you for your time.
We understand your apprehension, and while the mods can't allow fully anonymous submissions, we will do our best to ensure your comfort and therefore allow pen names or pseudonyms if that allows you more breathing room! The process itself can't be kept anonymous due to the collaborative nature of the zine, but for the final production, we will of course accommodate and use your pseudo instead.
Also to previous ask, are the guidelines for what to submit for applications only hosted on the discord? I see references to submitting certain links on the applications that somewhat define what to submit but also seem to be in reference to a different group of requirements I cannot find on the zine’s website. I know every project will have different organization, but I would definitely appreciate if more of that information was shared on socials or on the zine’s website to be accessed more clearly.
All information in regards to expectations for submissions are posted here as well as on the applications. On our tumblr page, we have a post of all the application links, and below the line break is a breakdown of expectations for formatting. The applications themselves also give a numbered list for what you have to submit.
For reference, please look at the pictures here:
The zine website will also be updated to host this information, but for clarification, the only extra information the server has gotten is an hour earlier access to the applications. If there are specific questions such as what you want to submit and if they qualify, then we can answer them!
Hello! Dropping this ask here as it’s the main option available. Is there a reason we have to join the discord server before the application acceptance process? I usually only prefer to join a project space if I know I’ll be working on it, as I’m not the most comfortable in those spaces otherwise. Is it a requirement to join as part of one’s application to be considered? Or can we join when/if we get confirmation of contributor acceptance?
If you find that you're uncomfortable, you can hold off on joining the server right away. Just please make sure to fill out the email portion of the application so we can reach out to you!
