A Single Drink ll MeredithxEli
The Summer Bash event was slowly coming to an end. They were on the last day now; and already the sun was beginning to creep towards the horizon, bathing the beach in coral colours and lighting the sand like a pot full of gold.
Although she was loathe to admit it, this was one event Meredith had thoroughly enjoyed. She'd spent the last few days lounging on the shore, working on her tan or plunging into the cool waters of the beach. Of course, her good mood was also helped by the fact that she'd won one hell of a jetski race against the proud, indomitable Anthony Harrison, had received an unforeseen apology (an actual apology!) from Sofia Blye, and had generally managed to either avoid or be civil to the rest of the people who were in attendance.
As evening approached her high began to dwindle slightly, as she realized that once the event was over, everything would go back to normal. Work, life, unpleasant run-ins with people she couldn't avoid forever... Basically, life. But as Meredith grabbed one of the few vacant seats at the bar, she decided not to focus on that right now. As long as there were a few hours of daylight left to salvage, she would be happy.
"I'll have a Mimosa Cocktail, please." She told the bartender as soon as she was seated. Meredith made herself comfortable when the young woman across the bar left to fulfill her order. She glanced around, only for her eyes to land on the person next to her. Shit.
Eli Jett.
