he remembers the warnings: if the shepherd allows malevolence to corrupt him, the world will be plunged into unimaginable chaos. lailah’s voice (and a warped mirror of his own) are packed in the recesses of his mind, now foreign and strange. the people of this world still deserve to be saved, even if the strange twist of fate in his core tells him otherwise.
how could they let it come to this? worse yet, how could he?
when he’s severed himself from the prime lord and the others save for one, he doesn’t expect to find the princess where he’s attempting to seal himself away. though maybe he ought to go into hiding for awhile, to spare people from what’s become of his promises. but then, how could he help? how could he possibly explain himself to her?
there’s no answers; only the wobbly smile he uses in attempt to put on a show. “hey, alisha. i... didn’t think i’d see you out and about so soon.”
