           ❝ Oh, c’mon now. ❞ A scoff immediately exits from Travis’s mouth at Sal’s words. Not a day or more went by on the job when he wasn’t bumping into the nuisance and having to deal with his antics. He really did any and everything to get under his skin and it was starting to work.  ❝ I don’t steal things and if I did it definitely wouldn’t be from you. We got two different tastes. ❞ And Travis would rather die before he put on anything remotely similar to Sal.

          “ He ain’t the kinda man likes his business spread around, y’know? And he don’t like you much. Why the hell would I tell you? ”  Levi figures it may be wise not to go into any more detail. While he realizes Sal is certainly aware of Lola’s feelings towards him, he doesn’t have any interest in getting involved in this conversation with him.

“i cook; you wash the dishes. i expect the dishes washed. now.”

His general demure is often disarming, his purpose is sinister, but that doesn’t stop him from being polite and providing excellent customer service.

“That would be hilarious if I wasn’t about to pass out.” Sal was the world’s biggest sweetheart somedays, but she couldn’t properly appreciate that after this case. Not with making five different reconstructions on about an hour of sleep. 

She has been nursing a lime soda for almost an hour, with the ice so melted it was basically watery by now. She thought the atmosphere of a bar would be enough but it turns out it really is about the alcohol. She’s staying sencible tonight. Actually, in alcohols defense, she’s made a lot of dumb decisions totally sober too. Maybe this is another of those. She slides over to the man three seats down, and begins, “are you married? I’m not hitting on you, I’m looking for advice. Not to say I don’t find you attractive but my therapist put that down to the trauma of lack of any sort of parental guidance in my life, not actually a thing for wrinkles.”

“Hey! Watch where you’re going, shit for brains!” She yells from the spot on the sidewalk where she’s landed. She wasn’t born a new yorker, but such a response could fool anyone.
