This account is to document experiences of asiaphobia/asian hate/fetishism towards anyone from all corners of Asia (inclusive western asia / middle east, anatolia and eastern Russia), as I feel as though it is important to recognise these things.
Mod is east asian (mongolian/korean/japanese), an adult and has dealt with severe asiaphobia his entire lifespan, including fetishisation of him because of korean/japanese heritage and then being made fun of for being mongolian and "ruining" the genes for myself. Rules and info below the cut!
Asiaphobia is being told by a white american that I look like a white person with jaundice rather than "properly asian".
That one time my stepdad was saying to me, a mixed desi person, how all Indian food is gross. While he was about to eat Indian food. Like... wtf? And then when I said to my mom that I didn't appreciate that comment (they're both white, BTW), she said, "Oh he didn't mean anything by it, you're just overreacting, stop being so sensitive. " Like, ok you just insulted my culture and then expected me to laugh at it? Fuck off.

Asiaphobia is the reaction to a video I saw of a (presumably) Korean man in Germany who used (what is considered) fancy language to apologise and express regret for an accident he did on the road. I opened the comments and saw โbro spoke Japanese in Germanโ. Like, I guess this is also orientalist in a way (implying JP is inherently poetic and eloquent) but also generalisation because the manโs last name was Park (hence the assumption that he may be Korean) (I know his last name because the video was from a news coverage).

asiaphobia is a guy in a server sending a gif of a stereotypical looking, patriotic turkish man and the guy talking about how his ex was turkish when i mentioned myself being turkish. actual microaggression. -๐ฆ๐ก๏ธ

asian hate is that one time a guy in a server asked me whether i was a Turk, but using a version of the word in my native language that mocks and degrades Turks. He was fully German and an adult, saying that to me when I was 13

omg i'm so happy this blog exists
asiaphobia is us having to tell my (japanese immigrant to america) grandfather (who does speak english but prefers talking in japanese cause it's his native language) to stop talking in japanese during 2020 cause we were afraid he was going to get attacked (a lot of asian people were at the time for "causing covid" or some stupid thing)
his response was that it's chinese people that were getting the accusations, and while that was obviously very terrible, we are japanese and therefore are not subject to this. grandfather. if someone is racist enough to attack someone for speaking chinese they are racist enough to not check which east asian language you are speaking. like i know they sound different. however not to a racist they don't.
thankfully nothing ever actually ended up happening to him, but i remember being genuinely scared that it would
