Mixed media work from about a year ago that I kept forgetting to post. This one’s about nostalgia and trash <3

Working in mixed media after so long just feels so right. Here's my boy Jarrett (as a teen and a 20-something). It's kind of a piece about how when you go through trauma and abuse as a teenager, you feel this sense of anger over what happened and feel protective of your "younger self." It's a lot like feeling "past you" is not really you, but a younger sibling you need to protect somehow. It's something I find myself feeling a lot, seeing old photos and remembering how I felt back then but being so awake to how wrong I really was and how I didn't deserve to feel that way. Has anyone else experienced this?
