Word Count:Â 257

Summary:Â Talk about a place you remember from your childhood.
Most of Asher’s memories from childhood were tainted in one way or another. He could have a happy memory of his mother being there for him, but it was because once again, his father was too busy with work. Or he could do really well at one of his soccer games, only to have his father not make it or criticize him in some way making him once again, not feel like he was good enough. No matter what he did as a kid, he could never live up to the expectations his father had and make him proud. Which was why he decided long ago to do the opposite. Pissing off his father became Asher’s favorite past time and he eventually took joy in it.
There was one place though that Asher loved growing up, even if it was the reason (in his mind) that his father was so distant and put so many expectations on him that were impossible to live up to. It was the family vineyard that the Foxes owned in Napa. He’d never forget as a kid running around in the vineyard, along the grape vines, playing hide and seek with some of the servant’s kids or with his cousins when they’d come to visit. Or how when the sun started to set, how it looked over the hills of grapevines. Or the sweet smell in the air on those hot days. Though he’d never admit it, Asher missed that place and deep down, hoped to be able to return one day.
