It feels like CRWBY is trying to avoid the crap a couple years ago by giving the wasps what they wanted, even if it's so disjointed from the way the story had been going at that point. And it's not just in the show itself, they also seemed to want to retcon a lot about Sun to make him far less noble compared Yang, case in point the books. I'm not saying that Sun's a saint, as he is pretty impulsive and doesn't' think stuff through, but Before the Dawn was borderline character assassination.
They want to make Sun "I Stole You Some Fruit" Wukong look less Nobel than Yang "Do Faunus Sniff Each Others Butt" Xiao Long? Sun "I'd Do It Again If It Meant Protecting You" Wukong less Nobel than Yang "Stereotype Laser Pointer" Xiao Long?! Good luck.
I remember hearing somewhere before he passed that Sun was Monty's favorite so to see him get dragged through the mud in the books is even more of a shame.
You can fight me on this but Sun has been the biggest influence in her life. Looking after her for two days, stealing food for her, helping her in her journey against the White Fang, and unlike Yang. He never gave up on her, he never shunned her no matter how many times she lashed out at him because unlike Yang he knew she was going through her own hell!
I've gone over this so many times and it's still the biggest thing that pisses me off about Yang. Yang was depressed after the fall of Beacon. So much so that she didn't even care when her little sister woke up from her coma, but through volume 4 and into 5 that she seemed more upset over Blake leaving than losing her arm. That ties in with her abandonment issues thanks to Raven but Yang had so much negativity towards Blake leaving that not once did she stop to think what Blake was going through.
Blake watched helplessly as her friend was hurt trying to protect her from her former abuser, she watched as students she knew were killed by people she grew up with. She watched as the place she felt safest, where she shared so many happy memories was destroyed by people from her past. She felt guilty, she blamed herself, she ran away because she thought she was protecting them and what did she want? Blake wanted to go home. To parents she thought hated her.
At least Sun had some idea of what was going on but Yang took it as a person attack. And what did Yang do when Blake finally came back? She shunned her, treated her like she did something wrong, like Blake purposely betrayed her. Snapped at her over miscommunications.
You compare Sun and Yang's interactions with Blake without the Ship moment's. (No Angel choir, no blush, no handholding or head touching) purely how they treat Blake and how they handle her actions and it's clear to see who's the better choice.
BlackSun is built on Support. BB used to be built on friendship but after Adam became built on shared trauma (and Yang's before mention abandonment issues that she needs Professional help with) which they did not over come by killing him. Which is another trauma they share now. (Because killing a person no matter how heinous they are is not an easy thing to do or something that just gets brushed off) These girls don't need to be in a relationship they need to be in therapy.
Sun has always been in Blake's corner while we've watched Yang literally push her into one.
I wish I could like Bumblebee. As an LGBT member I want to support it but it's such a bullshit ship. And I hate watching so many people swallow this garbage without question, without demanding a better written ship. I want it to be a good written and healthy ship but it's just not. And we deserve better representation than this.
