Naruto and Sasuke have been dating for about six months when it finally comes up. 

“Hey,” Naruto says, bright like he always is but soft like he only really gets when it comes to Sasuke. They’re laying on the grass on top a hill just outside the village, side-by-side, looking skyward. (It’s... cheesy, but then so much of what they do anymore is cheesy. Sasuke has a hard time complaining.) Naruto rolls over a bit to face him, loosely dangling his fingers through Sasuke’s hair. Sasuke hums, leaning his head lightly into the touch. “This is where we first kissed, isn’t it?” 

Sasuke remembers it well - they were laid in just this same spot, watching the fireworks from the summer festival Konoha’d been putting on. The festival itself was... fine, but after was better, relaxing with Naruto in their yukata, feeling a little more at peace with the world than he would normally let himself be. And somewhere throughout it, it happened, lips on lips, acting on what they both knew was coming.

But -

Wait a second. 

That wasn’t their first kiss.
