This is roughly the order of introduction, if I'm remembering correctly, although it gets a little muddied after Tyalaskr.

And here’s Asforahl! She’s the last of the “main” cast and the only original indori aside from Marashac to have survived the first war. She’s been sublimated for a long, long time, waiting for a particular loved one to reawaken so that they can be reunited.

An important note to make is that while aur like Riv and Myn sublimate into crystals and minerals, indori sublimate into trees that grow up around them. The sap on the inside of the tree clings more to foreign material like clothing than to “native” materials like skin and hair, so my girl Azzie is wearing as little as possible in order to make the wakeup process less messy. (Marashac, meanwhile, sublimated fully clothed and so hauls herself out of her tree absolutely covered in tree sap. What a way to make a first impression.) She’ll get better clothing later, but these pictures have all been based on the characters as they initially appear in the story. (Except Tyal, but that’s complicated.)

Azzie is a pretty amazing woman; she did a lot for the world after the first war, only setting herself to rest over a century later, after making sure that allies and other populations were stable enough to make it without her. Unfortunately, this is one of the things that led to the indori ending up with a pretty awful reputation, as history eventually began to view her actions as an attempt at “grooming” the world to what she wanted to see rather than letting it grow on its own.
