Will Have Been at AA|LA

At the beginning of the pandemic I just made odd collages to adjust.  This was one of them. 

Was thinking about how last spring I spent several months making collages. Here is one of them:

Saeed's drawing book, which is always with him, everywhere he goes,‌‌‌everything that he observes, records as drawings and he shares them with us. his drawing book is his heart. somehow in his drawings, with collages and primitive prints, giving a valuable meaning to each spot, has become as his code. It is simple and free-standing. almost like a poem, naive and primitive. takes the viewer inside, narrates the story. takes us to our childhood, the stories which grandmothers and grandfathers used to tell.  This collection mirrors his whole life. rather than his poverty, indicates his spiritual wealth. and with this exhibition he shows his spiritual richness. I do not know photographer The sixth photo was taken by the artist during the study for the project in 2010. ________________________________ حتما برایمان اتفاق افتاده که در هنگام تورق آلبوم‌های خانوادگی با عکس‌هایی بریده شده از صورت یا بدن فرد به‌خصوصی مواجه شده‌ایم. دیدن عکس‌های خالی شده حس تكان دهنده‌ و تلخی دارد كه با دانستن اين‌كه اين فرد ديگر نيست، بيشتر تشديد می‌شود. بریدن عکس‌ها در آلبوم‌های خانوادگی به عنوان یک خرده فرهنگ همیشه میان مردم رایج بوده و بیشتر به دو منظور انجام می‌شده، چه به منظور بخشيدن جايگاه بهتر به فردی که دیگر نیست، همچون قراردادن‌اش درون قاب‌عكس گردن‌آويز كه بر سينه آويخته می‌شود و چه برای ديگر نديدن از دست رفته به خاطر تاب نياوردن تلخی فقدان. While turning over the pages of a family album we might have been faced with some cut photographs of a single person's face or body. Seeing the emptied pictures has a shocking and bitter sense which intensifies when you know that the person does not exist anymore. Cutting the photographs in family albums as a subculture has always been popular among people and mostly was done for two purposes: In order to give a better place to the person who does not exist, like putting it inside a picture frame necklace for hanging on the chest, Or in order to not to see the missing person because of being unable to bear the bitterness of lose.
