The Northampton, Mass based duo of Augustus Muller & Jae Matthews create minimally dark electro infused goth, one that blends the glitz with the gritty. “Motion” is anchored by the tactile and dance-ready framework laid by Muller, which creates the ideal foundation for Matthew’s ethereal purr. 

There’s no escaping Harsher Boy’s latest bliss educed ditty, the pulsing electro beat is too infectious when paired with Jae’s dewy ghost-like voice. “Motion” is pure dim-the-lights sensuality filtered through aesthetic euphoria, synths, and a neat 4 minute run time (not too mention a simplistically rad video treatment).

The Northampton, Mass based duo of Augustus Muller & Jae Matthews have cornered the quasi-retro synthwave field, with “Country Girl” only furthering their ascent. The opening notes of a sustained synthesizer immediately clue you into Boy Harsher’s world, one where studied application is applied with an array of cooed vocals, electro funk bass, piercing guitar stabs, and a soft-focus beat. 

Boy Harsher are adept at navigating the world of gothy synth odes, where entrenched sounds of the past infiltrate the modern aesthetic and hazy dreams meet dance leaning inclinations. The track’s second half is where this schematic rings truest, where the chilled “Country Girl” adopts a clap-like beat, allowing memory flashes of New Order to reign free.
