AsaTeru and “Why haven’t you kissed me yet?”
I hope you like this, my love!
Yuuji is frustrated, and he only grows more so as the days go by. It’s weird, because he’s the happiest he’s ever been in his life, and yet this sense of annoyance won’t go away. He loves his boyfriend, he does, but every day they’re together adds another layer of insecurity. It’s been three months since they day they finally admitted their feelings to each other, after who knows how long of tiptoeing around the subject.
He’s in Asahi’s kitchen, cooking a surprise dinner when he hears the front door creak open. He steps into the hall just as it seems Asahi realizes he’s there, and Asahi looks up, fond surprise on his face. Asahi walks around him, though, even as he greets Yuuji, stepping around to the bathroom instead. That’s understandable, because Asahi is always conscious of how dirty his hands get from working in the shop. Yuuji retreats to the kitchen again, humming as he checks the oven.
It doesn’t take long for Asahi to come to the kitchen, and Yuuji smiles and wraps his arms around Asahi and squeezes tightly. Asahi laughs and hugs back, pressing his face into Yuuji’s hair. It’s fine, for a moment, and then Yuuji tilts his head back and stares into his eyes. He practically growls when Asahi shakes his head, only noticeable because of how concentrated on him Yuuji is, and then he steps back and lets their arms fall.
That’s when Yuuji snaps. Every time that he’s made a hint or tried to make a move himself, Asahi has found a way to move away or pretend to not realize what was going on. And Yuuji can tell that Asahi knows, can see it in his eyes. Yuuji swallows hard and tries to keep his voice steady. “Why haven’t you kissed me yet?” Asahi blinks, and Yuuji tries not to tear up. “Do you not actually like me? Are you only together with me because I forced you?”
Asahi surges into motion then, wrapping his arms around Yuuji again. “No, no, no.” He cups Yuuji’s face in his hands, and leans their foreheads together. “I just. Wanted the first one to be special, I guess. I didn’t realize it was bothering you so much. I’m sorry.”
Yuuji sighs and closes his eyes. “Everything is special with you.”
The laugh Asahi lets out is soft, and the air brushes against Yuuji’s lips with how close they are. “Can I kiss you now?”
“Yeah.” Yuuji hardly gets his response out before Asahi’s mouth is on his, lips soft and warm and everything that Yuuji’s been yearning for longer than he can remember.
